Was the old tag barred from the Esports World Cup?
The controversy arose ahead of the 2025 PUBG Mobile competition at the Esports World Cup. Gaming.News reported on July 15 that organizers had prohibited the name, attributing that information to TalkEsports. The reviewed coverage did not include a primary statement from the event organizer, so the restriction should be understood as a reported claim rather than an independently confirmed rule. The 2025 event has passed.
