Escape from Tarkov’s 6 October 2026 patch, 1.2.0.0, fixed a specific issue with red visual artifacts in optic lenses. Its notes do not say that it fixed every report of blurry magnified scopes. Players have described partial, sometimes intermittent blur, but the available reports do not confirm one cause or establish how widespread it is.
What the latest patch says about blurry scopes
Patch 1.2.0.0, dated 6 October 2026, says: “Fixed an issue that caused red visual artifacts to appear in optic lenses in certain cases.” Read the patch notes.
That confirms a fix for red artifacts in certain cases. It does not explicitly say that partial blur, softness, or other magnified-scope issues were fixed. Red lens artifacts and a blurred portion of the sight picture are different symptoms, so the patch note alone cannot confirm that a blurry-scope report is resolved.
What players have reported
In a Steam Community discussion posted on 29 May 2026, a player said some optics with 2x or greater magnification became partly blurry after an update. The examples included a blurry central rectangle in the Monstrum Compact Prism Sight 2×32 and an out-of-focus lower half in the HKV 3x. The original poster later said the same scope could look blurry, then clear, then blurry again during a match. A commenter also described a similar issue with night-vision goggles, while other commenters said they did not see it. See the player discussion.

These are individual observations, not an official confirmation of a known bug. They are useful for describing the symptom, but they do not show how many players are affected or prove that every blurry-scope report has the same cause.
What to try if a magnified optic looks blurry
- Confirm the installed patch and identify the symptom. Check whether you see red visual artifacts in the lens, partial blur or softness, or another visual problem. The patch note specifically addresses red artifacts, not every form of blur.
- Reproduce the issue with the same setup. Note the optic and weapon, and whether the blur stays in the same area or comes and goes. This helps distinguish a repeatable symptom from an intermittent one.
- Test graphics settings as an experiment. A Steam Community post from 4 December 2025 reported that one player cleared blurry, pixelated scopes by disabling DLSS and AMD FSR and selecting TAA under Graphics settings. A reply said FSR 3.0 worked for that commenter. Read the settings discussion. These are anecdotal reports from before patch 1.2.0.0, not a verified fix for the current patch. Change one setting at a time and check whether the symptom changes; the reports do not establish one best setting for every PC.
How to report a repeatable issue
If the blur persists and you can reproduce it, submit a bug report through the Battlestate Games launcher. The official bug-report guidance recommends including video or screenshots when possible. See Battlestate Games’ reporting guidance.

Include the patch version, optic and weapon, graphics settings, and the conditions under which the blur appears. Say whether it is constant or intermittent, and attach a short clip or screenshots that show the affected area. Specific reproduction details make the report more useful than describing the scope as simply “blurry.”
