PUBG MOBILE Version 3.5.0 launched on November 12, 2024. Its main attraction was Icemire Frontier, a temporary winter mode featuring Frostheim, dragon encounters, special loot and rideable creatures. The mode ended on January 8, 2025, at 05:59 Japan time, according to the Japanese release notes; it is no longer a live mode. The update also included changes to Metro Royale, creation tools, My World, social features and more.
What was Icemire Frontier?
Icemire Frontier was a limited-time, Ice Age-inspired mode set on Erangel, Vikendi and Livik. The Japanese patch notes list Erangel for ranked and unranked play, and Vikendi and Livik for ranked play, with solo, duo and squad formats in both TPP and FPP. Frostheim appeared in two locations on most maps, but in one location on Vikendi and Livik. These queue and map details reflect the Japanese release notes and should not be assumed to describe every region.
Frostheim and the Dragon’s Lair
The central encounter began at a dragon statue in Frostheim. After a countdown, the statue broke and a Dragon Crate appeared, activating some Winter Gates. On Erangel, a gate could lead to the Dragon’s Lair. Up to three teams could enter, but the notes say they would not meet one another before the boss encounter. KRAFTON JAPAN’s announcement also described reaching and fighting the Ice Dragon through a gate.
Mine and vault objectives
Magic Crystal Mine offered above-ground and underground areas, with a crate at the center of the underground section. Loot could include an Ice Dragon Horn. The Ice Vault appeared at multiple map locations; players had to break its crystals before the timer ran out to claim its rewards. The dragon could also descend randomly at a Magic Crystal Mine.

Which special items and vehicles were added?

These were in-game items and vehicles, not physical products. The notes also document a horse vehicle on Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok and Livik.
What other gameplay changes came with Version 3.5?
M79 Smoke Grenade Launcher
The M79 appeared in ranked matches on Erangel and Miramar, according to the Japanese notes. It created smoke immediately at the point of impact, giving players a way to deploy smoke at a distance.

Metro Royale
The listed Metro Royale season ran from November 13, 2024, through January 6, 2025, at 08:59 Japan time. Its additions included Sabertooth Tigers in Misty Port and Arctic Base, Chapter 23 collectibles and a GameWiki entry. The notes also say that gear recovered from a downed teammate and successfully evacuated would be returned to that teammate.
World of Wonder and creation features
The English-language App Store summary mentions breakable objects and editing changes. The Japanese patch notes separately describe a beta CRAFTGROUND section with Icemire elements, devices, objects and templates. These are region- and feature-specific descriptions, not grounds to assume every creation feature was available globally in the same form.

What changed outside the battle modes?
Version 3.5 also included updates to My World and social systems, plus seasonal content. The Japanese patch notes list new shop styles and furniture, furniture synthesis, rewards at My World levels 5 and 8, a Winter Festival event, a new family relationship option, relationship controls, friend interaction points, and controls for invitations and status.
- C7S21 and Royale Pass A10 began on November 15, 2024.
- Selected devices received support for 90 or 120 FPS; the notes do not establish that support applied to every device.
- The patch notes say anti-cheat detection was strengthened.
