For Week 4, lean toward Puka Nacua over Cooper Kupp—but check final pregame news before setting your lineup. The old Rams-versus-Rams framing no longer applies: Nacua is with Los Angeles, while Kupp is now a Seattle Seahawk. Nacua was listed without a game-status designation for the Rams’ Oct. 4 game after missing two weeks, though coach Sean McVay said the team would need to manage his return workload.
Why this is no longer a Rams-versus-Rams decision
Nacua remains on the Rams, but Kupp is on Seattle’s roster for 2026. They are not competing for the same share of Matthew Stafford’s targets. The choice is between receivers on different teams, with different quarterbacks and Week 4 contexts.
This recommendation is a pregame call for Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026. Nacua is the lean based on his expected availability and stronger established production, not on a detailed matchup projection. The available information does not establish Kupp’s Week 4 availability.
What to weigh before starting either receiver
Nacua’s expected return and workload uncertainty
The Rams’ Oct. 2 final injury report listed Nacua without a game-status designation for the Eagles game after he missed the previous two contests. The report’s practice table used a hip designation, while McVay described the issue in the article as groin soreness; those labels should not be treated as a single confirmed diagnosis.

McVay said Nacua looked sharp and strong in practice, but flagged playing time as something the team had to manage: “In terms of the snap count, that’s the thing that we have to be willing to navigate.” The Rams did not publish a specific snap limit. A lack of a game-status designation is encouraging, but it does not guarantee a full workload after an absence.
Kupp’s Seattle production and unknown Week 4 status
Through Seattle’s first three games, Kupp had 8 receptions for 101 yards and 1 receiving touchdown. That is a modest start, and the available information does not establish whether he is available for Week 4 or how much he is expected to play. Check Seattle’s final pregame status rather than assuming he is healthy.

Production baseline
Nacua’s Rams profile records 129 catches, 1,715 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns in 2025. In his one appearance in 2026, the season opener, he caught 5 passes for 74 yards. These figures give Nacua the stronger established production baseline, but they do not predict his output after returning from two missed games.

| Factor | Puka Nacua | Cooper Kupp |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 team | Los Angeles Rams | Seattle Seahawks |
| Pregame availability information | No game-status designation on the Rams’ Oct. 2 report after missing two games. | Week 4 availability is not established in the available information. |
| Playing-time certainty | McVay said the Rams would need to navigate his snap count; no snap limit was stated. | Week 4 workload is not established. |
| Recent receiving production | 5 catches for 74 yards in his one 2026 game. | 8 catches, 101 yards and 1 touchdown through three 2026 games. |
| Fantasy choice | Lean Nacua, while accounting for return-workload risk. | Consider only after confirming availability and comparing your lineup alternatives. |
In a standard start/sit choice between the two, Nacua is the better lean if final pregame news does not change his status. The call is less secure than it would be for a player with a known full workload: McVay explicitly raised snap management, and no confirmed snap count or target projection is available.
