Meta’s reported U.S. price increases for the Quest 3S and Quest 3 took effect on April 19, 2026. That means there is no longer a “before the hike” buying window. The published post-increase prices are $349.99 for Quest 3S 128GB, $449.99 for Quest 3S 256GB, and $599.99 for Quest 3 512GB—but those are reported MSRPs, not verified live offers. No October 4, 2026 retailer comparison establishes which headset is currently the best deal.
Reported U.S. prices after the increase
TechCrunch and Game Informer reported that Meta’s U.S. price changes took effect April 19, 2026. The figures below are reported prices, not a check of current retailer stock or checkout totals.
| Headset | Reported U.S. price from April 19, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Meta Quest 3S 128GB | $349.99 |
| Meta Quest 3S 256GB | $449.99 |
| Meta Quest 3 512GB | $599.99 |
These reported figures were covered by TechCrunch and Game Informer. A retailer’s advertised price can differ; check the exact configuration, condition, seller, shipping, taxes, and final checkout amount before buying.
Which Quest is the better buy?
There is no substantiated live deal winner. Choose based on the final price for the same storage configuration, how much storage you need, and whether the Quest 3’s optics are worth its premium to you. Both headsets use the Quest app and game library, and Meta said compatible Quest 3-specific performance updates would also work on Quest 3S.

Quest 3S 128GB: lower entry cost
Meta introduced Quest 3S as the lower-priced option for people new to mixed reality. It launched at $299.99 in 2024; that historical launch price is not evidence of an offer available now. At the reported post-increase price of $349.99, it remains the least expensive configuration in this lineup, but its 128GB capacity is the smallest.
Quest 3S 256GB: more room on the same headset
The 256GB Quest 3S has the same model positioning as the 128GB version, with more storage for installed games and apps. Its reported post-increase price is $449.99. Compare it with the 128GB version’s actual checkout price: if the difference is substantial, decide whether the extra capacity is useful for the size of your library.

Quest 3 512GB: higher tier, different optics
Meta positioned Quest 3 as the higher-tier headset for enthusiasts and gamers. Its launch materials highlight pancake lenses, a wider field of view, and four times the storage of the baseline Quest 3S. The 512GB model’s reported post-increase price is $599.99. It launched at $649.99 in 2023, and Meta announced a reduction to $499.99 when Quest 3S joined the lineup in 2024; neither historical price establishes a current discount.
How to check whether a listing is a real deal
- Match the exact SKU. Compare 3S 128GB with 3S 128GB, for example—not a different storage tier or a used headset against a new one.
- Check seller and condition. Confirm whether the listing is new, refurbished, or used, and who actually sells and ships it.
- Compare the checkout total. Add shipping and taxes, and verify the final price before placing the order.
- Evaluate bundle contents separately. A bundle is only better value if you want its included items and their value makes sense relative to buying the headset alone.
- Confirm availability at purchase. Listings and stock can change. The available search snapshot showed Quest 3S 128GB at $349.99, but it did not establish inventory, condition, delivery costs, or competing offers; it is not enough to call that listing the best deal.
Why older Quest prices can mislead
The 2024 Quest 3S launch announcement listed a starting price of $299.99 and said the Quest 3 512GB price was moving from $649.99 to $499.99. Meta’s 2023 Quest 3 announcement had listed $499.99 for 128GB and $649.99 for 512GB at launch. Those are historical launch or pricing announcements, not today’s verified retailer prices; do not treat them as prices you can still buy at.
