QUOD is a Windows retro shooter whose developer, Daivuk, says its compressed executable contains the entire game: textures, levels, models, animations, sounds, music and code. The download is just 64 KB, but the tiny file does not mean tiny system requirements: Daivuk lists an Intel i5 or equivalent, a GTX 770 or equivalent and 8 GB of RAM as minimum specifications.
What’s in QUOD?
Daivuk describes QUOD as a retro shooter and lists three levels, one boss fight, four unique enemies, four weapons and a handful of power-ups on the official game page. The developer’s description says: “This entire game fits into a 64 KB executable – including all textures, levels, models, animations, sounds, music, and code.”
That 64 KB figure refers to the compressed executable on disk, not the amount of memory the game uses while running. Daivuk’s listed minimum specifications—an Intel i5 or equivalent, a GTX 770 or equivalent and 8 GB of RAM—make clear that the download size is not a measure of how little hardware the game needs. These are the developer’s published requirements, not independently benchmarked results.
How does a 3D shooter fit in 64 KB?
In its February 23, 2026 technical report, Hackaday describes a pipeline built around compact representations and custom tools. The developer used TrenchBroom to make levels, then reprocessed them into a more space-efficient format. Models were low-poly and designed with symmetry in mind; custom modeling tools helped keep them small. Procedural texture tools and synthesized audio also reduced the need to store conventional, ready-made assets.

Hackaday also reports that the developer created a custom language and virtual machine. According to the report, this saved about 2 kB and made room for another level under the size limit. These are details attributed to Hackaday’s reporting; they should not be mistaken for an independent examination of QUOD’s executable.
Which QUOD download should you choose?
Daivuk lists two Windows executables on the game page. The developer warns that the compressed file may trigger antivirus alerts and offers the uncompressed version as an alternative. That warning does not establish whether a particular alert is a false positive, nor does the alternative build amount to a guarantee of safety.

The page does not establish gameplay or performance differences between the two files. If you download either one, use the official Daivuk itch.io page and follow your own security software’s guidance rather than treating a warning—or its absence—as proof about the file.
What computer and operating system does it support?
The developer documents QUOD as a Windows game and lists an Intel i5 or equivalent processor, GTX 770 or equivalent graphics card, 8 GB RAM and 64 KB disk space as minimum requirements. Tom’s Hardware also reports the listed hardware specifications in its February 24, 2026 feature.

Linux support is not documented on the official page. User reports of running Windows games through Wine or Proton are anecdotal, so they are not a basis for promising QUOD compatibility on Linux.

For players curious about extreme file-size constraints, QUOD is a compact, finite shooter rather than a sprawling game: its developer lists three levels and a focused set of combat content. Daivuk offers it as a name-your-own-price digital download. The listed builds are the compressed 64 kB executable and the 102 kB uncompressed alternative; the page does not establish different gameplay between them.
