The Classic Quordle for Sunday, October 18, 2026, is Quordle #1728. In board order, the answers are FLINT, FUROR, WEDGE and RODEO. If you are still solving, use the clues below before opening the spoiler section.

Today’s Quordle clues

Quordle gives you four five-letter words to solve at the same time. You have nine shared guesses, so every word you enter is submitted to all four boards. Green tiles identify letters in the correct position; yellow tiles identify letters that belong in the word but are in the wrong position. Gray letters are not used in that board’s answer.

  1. Board 1 — FLINT: A hard rock that can produce sparks and start a fire; it is also the name of a city in Michigan.

  3. Board 3 — WEDGE: A piece of wood or another material placed under a door to hold it open.

Spoiler: the four answers

Stop here if you only wanted hints. The Classic answers for Sunday, October 18 are:

Board Answer Starting letter
1 FLINT F
2 FUROR F
3 WEDGE W
4 RODEO R

How to use the clues without wasting guesses

Start with a high-information word

Your opening guess should test several common vowels and consonants. Because one guess affects every board, a word that reveals frequent letters can narrow all four solutions at once. Once a board gives you a strong definition match, keep checking that the spelling also fits every colored tile.

Allocate guesses across the four boards

Do not spend all nine attempts finishing one board while the other three remain nearly blank. A plausible word can be valuable even when it is not the final answer if it confirms letter positions on multiple boards. In this set, the two F-starting answers can make the first and second boards easy to confuse, so use each board’s definition and tile pattern separately.

Use position information carefully

A yellow tile means the letter is present somewhere else in that same word, not necessarily in the same position on another board. Green tiles are fixed. When a candidate has been ruled out by a gray letter or an impossible position, remove it rather than trying a near miss that burns one of the nine guesses.

When does the October 18 puzzle reset?

Quordle’s Daily modes reset at midnight Japan Standard Time (JST), according to the listing for this puzzle. Players elsewhere may see the reset at a different local time and may therefore encounter the October 18 set while their calendar still shows October 17, or see a different “today” label after midnight in their own region. The puzzle is identified as Quordle #1728.

Which Quordle mode is covered here?

This answer set is for Classic mode only. Quordle also offers other modes, including Chill and Extreme, but their October 18 answer lists are not established here. Do not assume that the Classic solutions apply to those variants; each mode can use a different puzzle set and rule configuration.

Why the answer order matters

Quordle displays four boards, and the conventional answer order runs from the upper-left board to the upper-right, then the lower-left and lower-right. Reading the words in that order prevents a correct answer from being assigned to the wrong board when you are checking a screenshot or comparing results with another player. For this date, that sequence is FLINT, FUROR, WEDGE and RODEO.

Quick check before you reveal the spoiler

  • Confirm that you are playing the Classic Daily puzzle.
  • Check the date and your local reset time; the official numbering is #1728 for October 18, 2026.
  • Use the definitions first, then verify every letter position with the colored tiles.
  • Remember that all four boards share the same nine guesses.
