Hints for Quordle #1491

These clues are for the four five-letter words in the February 23 puzzle. Stop at any point before the answer section to keep the solutions hidden.

  • Across the four answers, there are four different standard vowels: A, E, I, O and U. Y is not counted as a standard vowel here.
  • None of the answers contains a repeated letter.
  • None contains Q, Z, X or J.
  • The words begin with S, S, F and P, so two share the same first letter.

Meaning clues

  1. Move smoothly and quietly with gliding steps.
  2. A shrub or small tree with compound leaves.
  3. A sudden attack or incursion into enemy territory.
  4. A marine crustacean resembling a large shrimp.

Answers for Quordle #1491

The answers, in order, are SLINK, SUMAC, FORAY and PRAWN.

How Quordle works

Quordle asks players to solve four five-letter words at once. On the game page accessed in 2026, Classic uses nine guesses; the page also lists Extreme with eight guesses and Chill with twelve, plus Sequence, Rescue and a weekly challenge.
