Progressive hints for classic Quordle #978
Start with the broad clues and stop when you have enough help. These clues refer to the classic daily puzzle.
- The answers use four different standard vowels in total: A, E, I, and O. Y is not counted as a standard vowel here.
- Exactly one answer contains a repeated letter.
- One of the letters Q, Z, X, or J appears in the answers.
- No two answers begin with the same letter.
- The starting letters, in answer order, are B, C, S, and E.

Daily Sequence answers are different
If you are playing Daily Sequence #978 rather than the classic puzzle, its answers are TAKER, STEER, CROCK, and SATYR. They are a separate set and should not be confused with the classic answers above.

Why the year matters
The title’s date and game number identify the 2024 archive puzzle. September 28, 2026 was game #1708, with the different answers BRUNT, TORSO, STONE, and HEATH. The matching 2024 archive entry is TechRadar’s September 27, 2024 article; the 2026 entry is TechRadar’s September 27, 2026 article.
