What is Ragnarok: Monster World?
Ragnarok: Monster World is a real-time strategy game set in the Ragnarok universe. Ronin described its gameplay as a combination of tower defense and monster collecting, with collectible monsters called Ragmons. The announcement named story-based PvE, one-on-one PvP and guild-based land-occupation play as planned modes. Gravity’s first-quarter 2024 business update characterized it as a blockchain PC and mobile game.

In short, Gravity records a Thailand launch in 2024 and lists October 1, 2024 as the global launch date. The sources establish release history, but not whether the game is operating now or which platforms and territories currently offer it.
Was it really Ronin’s first Web2 game?
That was Ronin’s historical framing when it announced the partnership on April 17, 2024: the post called Ragnarok: Monster World the first Web2 gaming IP to debut on the network. Read “first” as a claim about that announcement, not as a verified current ranking of every title on Ronin. The announcement does not establish whether later Web2 IPs joined.

How were Ragmons and blockchain assets meant to work?
Ronin said Ragmons would have both in-game and on-chain utility, and described leveling them through “Merging.” The announcement also discussed NFTs as part of the planned design. These statements document the announced concept; they do not prove that NFTs are available in every region or that the same mechanics remain active today.

What did Ronin say about the Ragnarok audience?
Ronin’s April 2024 announcement said the wider Ragnarok universe had “over 68 million players.” That is a franchise-scale figure attributed to Ronin in 2024, not a player count for Monster World. It should not be read as a current statistic.
In the same announcement, Sky Mavis CEO and co-founder Trung Nguyen said: “Ragnarok, with its massive community, holds a special place in the hearts of our core audience in South East Asia, including many of our own team members who grew up as avid fans.
