When did Rainbow Six Mobile come out?
Ubisoft announced a worldwide launch date of February 23, 2026, in its December 16, 2025 announcement. On February 23, Ubisoft said the game was available worldwide to download and play for free on iOS and Android. The development team followed up on February 24 with a worldwide launch update confirming, “The servers are live.”
The launch coincided with Operation Sand Wraith, which featured Deimos and the DeathMARK Tracker gadget. Ubisoft’s announcement of the planned date is available at Ubisoft News; its launch-day availability confirmation is at Ubisoft News.
Why did the launch take years?
Rainbow Six Mobile went through several rounds of testing and staged availability before its global release. In its February 24, 2026 developer update, Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Mobile team said: “Over the past several years, thousands of players around the world jumped into early builds through Closed Alpha, multiple Closed Betas, soft launch phases, and final tests.” The statement describes Ubisoft’s testing process; it is not an independently measured player-count.

The same update describes a mobile-focused version of attacker-versus-defender tactical play, with Operators who have unique gadgets, maps optimized for mobile, progression and customization, seasonal content, and controls and performance adapted for mobile. Read the team’s worldwide launch update.
Can you play Rainbow Six Mobile on iPhone or Android?
Yes. Ubisoft described the game as free-to-play on both iOS and Android at worldwide launch. Availability and supported devices can vary by country and may change, so check the Rainbow Six Mobile listing in your local Apple App Store or Google Play Store before downloading. Ubisoft’s launch information does not establish specific minimum phone specifications or confirm controller support.

What modes and content were available at launch?
Ubisoft’s December 2025 launch announcement described 5v5 tactical matches and three modes: Bomb, Bomb Rush, and Team Deathmatch. Players could access matches through Quick Play, Ranked, and Private matches. The announcement also said the game had more than 20 Operators at launch, including Ash, Dokkaebi, and Mute, alongside maps inspired by Rainbow Six Siege and maps exclusive to mobile.
These details describe the launch lineup, not a guaranteed current roster. Ubisoft’s dated June 2, 2026 update said Operation Gray Phantom was available for iOS and Android, with Finka, rotating 3v3 modes, the Veil Protocol event, a Battle Pass, seasonal events, and ranked play. Seasonal offerings can change, so consult Ubisoft’s current game updates for the live lineup.
