What did the SI 2025 rumor claim?
On February 6, 2025, Insider Gaming reported a claim attributed to an X user called fraxiswinning, citing a report by The Game Post. The post allegedly said that Rainbow Six Siege 2 would be revealed at SI 2025, that “Siege X” was an internal name, and that the project would include an engine overhaul and graphical upgrades. It also relayed a possible Year 10 Season 2 release window. These were rumor details, not Ubisoft announcements. What happened at Six Invitational 2025?
Ubisoft’s event guide scheduled the SI 2025 Grand Final for February 14–16 at MGM Music Hall at Fenway. During the event, Ubisoft announced that a Siege X Showcase would take place on March 13. How did Ubisoft describe Siege X?
At its March 13 showcase, Ubisoft said: “The next evolution of Rainbow Six Siege was revealed today at the Siege X Showcase.” The company presented Siege X as the next evolution of the existing game, describing changes that included the Dual Front 6v6 mode, visual updates, an audio overhaul, and player-protection improvements. Its wording supports describing a substantial evolution of Rainbow Six Siege; it does not establish that a separately titled sequel was revealed at SI 2025.
