Error 4-0xfff0be25 is a Rainbow Six Siege connection error. Ubisoft support has associated it with being removed from a session and being unable to reconnect, but the code does not identify whether the cause is your network, Ubisoft’s service, or another part of the connection path. Check Ubisoft’s current connectivity guidance first; if you play on Windows PC, there is also a dated configuration suggestion from Ubisoft staff that you can try.
What does error 4-0xfff0be25 mean?
Ubisoft staff describe the code as a connection issue. Players have reported seeing it after messages such as “You have been removed from the session” or while trying to reconnect to a ranked match. The code alone is not a diagnosis: it does not prove that your home internet is unstable or pinpoint a server, platform, or network fault.
Ubisoft reported in January 2022 that it had previously investigated the error and applied a background fix, but that reports had returned. What should you check first?
Look for current service or issue updates
Before changing your setup, check Ubisoft’s current service status and the game’s current connectivity guidance. In an April 25, 2025 support reply, a Ubisoft developer linked players to the connectivity troubleshooting guide and an R6Fix issue-report page. The developer said the team was aware of the issue and investigating at that time; that dated statement does not confirm an active investigation or current outage. Use Ubisoft’s current guide for the steps it recommends now. The support reply’s link was presented as the guide, but its detailed contents are not established here, so do not assume an old or generic checklist reflects current Ubisoft instructions.
Compare with another network
Ubisoft staff suggested trying a different network, such as a mobile hotspot, as a way to check whether the problem changes with your current connection. Treat this as a diagnostic comparison, not proof of a particular cause. If the error occurs on one network but not another, that is useful information to include in a support request; it does not by itself identify the failing component. Windows PC: try the dated settings-file suggestion
In support replies on March 28 and April 25, 2025, Ubisoft developers suggested changing a setting in Rainbow Six Siege’s Windows PC configuration file. This is a reported suggestion, not a guaranteed or universal fix. Do not apply it to console versions.
- Open
Documents/My Games/Rainbow Six - Siege/<UserID>/GameSettings.ini. Replace<UserID>with the folder for your Siege profile. - Find
UseProxyAutoDiscoveryand change its value from0to1. - Save the file, then launch the game and see whether the connection problem recurs.
The same April 2025 reply said some players had found a clean boot helpful. That is another dated, player-reported suggestion rather than a confirmed fix. If you choose to try it, use Windows’ own clean-boot instructions and restore your normal startup configuration afterward. How to narrow down a recurring error
Keep track of what happens rather than treating the code as a root-cause diagnosis. Note whether it appears on one network or more than one, whether it happens once or repeatedly, and whether it occurs when entering a match, mid-session, or reconnecting. These observations can help Ubisoft Support assess your case; they are not proof of a specific network or service fault.
- Only one network tested: compare with another available network if practical, such as a mobile hotspot.
- Windows PC: the INI-file suggestion above is the platform-specific configuration step reported by Ubisoft staff.
- Repeated failures or an account-specific concern: contact Ubisoft Support with the error text, platform, approximate time, and what you already tried.
The available support replies do not establish that troubleshooting will restore a disconnected match, prevent a sanction, or qualify you for penalty reversal. Ask Ubisoft Support about account-specific match or penalty questions.

What Ubisoft has said about the issue
In March and April 2025, Ubisoft developers recommended connectivity troubleshooting and shared the Windows PC setting change. An April 2025 reply also pointed to R6Fix and described the team as aware and investigating then. Separately, Ubisoft staff described the code as a connection issue and recommended testing another network. These are historical support statements, not confirmation of the error’s live status in October 2026.
