Operation Collision Point, Rainbow Six Siege’s Year 9 Season 4, added console-to-PC crossplay. Console players can opt into PC matchmaking to play with PC friends; PC players cannot join console matchmaking pools. Ubisoft also described a revised Mousetrap penalty and automatic cancellation of matches when a detected cheater is banned. Those are published rules and safeguards—not proof that cheating was eliminated or that the measures reduced it by a measurable amount.
What “full crossplay” means in Siege
Ubisoft called the feature “Console to PC Crossplay 1.0.” It lets console players join the PC matchmaking pool, including to squad with PC players. It does not put every player into one shared pool by default: the option is one-way, from console to PC.
- Console players can choose to enter the PC pool.
- PC players cannot opt into console pools.
- A squad that includes a PC player is assigned to the PC pool.

What happens to Ranked progress?
A console player who plays Ranked in the PC matchmaking pool has a separate PC rank, distinct from their console rank. The change therefore affects both who can be in a match and which Ranked progression applies when a console player enters the PC pool.

Ubisoft’s page establishes the pool and rank rules, but does not quantify queue times or compare competitive performance between the pools.
How Ubisoft said Mousetrap would affect penalized players
Before Y9S4, Mousetrap’s penalty added latency to players Ubisoft identified as using input spoofing devices. For Collision Point, Ubisoft said a player with a Mousetrap penalty would instead be moved into PC matchmaking for 90 days. A penalized player who turned crossplay off could not enter matchmaking until turning it back on. Ubisoft’s season page describes this as the replacement for the former added-latency penalty.

This rule changes where penalized players are matched; it is not a guarantee that console players will never encounter cheating. Ubisoft’s published Y9S4 materials do not give a measured cheating rate or an effectiveness figure for Mousetrap.
What happens when a cheater is banned mid-match?
Ubisoft said that if moderators or the automatic ban system banned a detected player, the player would be removed immediately and the ongoing match canceled. Ubisoft said the cancellation would bypass the player vote and avoid the resulting MMR rollbacks. This describes the intended match-handling rule, not evidence that every suspected cheater is detected or that cheating stops.

Other Y9S4 player-protection changes
Reputation Center
Ubisoft said it reworked Reputation Center calculations, including Ally Damage and Ally Gadget Destruction, and removed Player Reports from those calculations. The interface was intended to show how actions affected a player’s standing and proximity to warning or penalty thresholds.
Text moderation
Ubisoft described a real-time AI service that analyzes text chat to remove highly toxic messages and flag disruptive ones. The season announcement does not provide an independent performance evaluation or outcome statistics for the system.

Before this update, Ubisoft’s Year 7 Season 4 announcement described crossplay between console platforms while keeping PC and streaming-platform players in their own matchmaking pool. It also said players could opt out of crossplay matchmaking in the in-game settings. Y9S4’s significant change was opening a route for console players into the PC pool, while retaining the separate-pool rules. Ubisoft’s November 23, 2022 Y7S4 announcement documents the earlier arrangement.
