The 2014 licensed action game adapts sequences and story arcs from the first three films, with score streaks and multipliers at its core. Here is what the dated reviews say—and what they do not establish about playing or buying it today.
What do the reviews say?
The critical reception was unfavorable overall. Metacritic displayed a critic score of 34/100 from 22 reviews and labeled the aggregate “Generally Unfavorable” when accessed on October 8, 2026. Its page also displayed a user score of 1.7/10 from 341 ratings on that date. These are mutable page snapshots, not permanent totals. Metacritic’s review page

That aggregate is distinct from GameSpot’s individual review: Tyler Hicks gave the game 6/10 in a review published February 26, 2014. GameSpot’s review summary points to kill streaks and score multipliers as part of its action. Hicks’s score is a relatively favorable example within a broadly negative critical reception, not a replacement for the aggregate. GameSpot’s review
What kind of game is it?
The game draws on action sequences and story arcs from First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III. Its score-focused action includes kill streaks and multipliers, so the review evidence supports describing it as an adaptation built around scoring combat rather than treating it as a general-purpose account of the films. The available sources do not establish more detailed mechanics or how well they play.

Is it worth playing or buying now?
The historical reviews give a straightforward caution: critics were generally unfavorable, with GameSpot’s 6/10 offering a more positive individual assessment. They do not tell you whether the game currently runs well on modern systems, what it costs, whether a copy is in stock, or whether a particular physical edition is compatible with your region. Check the exact platform, edition, condition and regional compatibility with the seller before buying; the sources cited here do not verify current listings or availability.
The 2014 announcement also mentioned two exclusive Rambo figurines, but it does not establish whether either figurine or any game copies remain available today.
