This ranking covers Limbus Company’s twelve core Sinners—not every combat Identity—and orders them by overall character appeal: personality, narrative presence, and how compelling they are as part of the cast. It is a subjective reading, not an official or objective ranking. If you mean combat strength, that depends on the specific Identity rather than the Sinner alone.
What this ranking measures
Limbus Company has twelve Sinners, the central cast recruited by the company. An Identity is a separate unit: an alternate possibility of a Sinner with its own abilities and skillset. The official site describes Identities as “A different possibility borrowed from the myriad of dimensions” (Limbus Company official site; Prydwen’s game introduction).
The order below weighs characterization, narrative presence, and distinctiveness as characters. It is a single editorial interpretation; the sources do not establish an authoritative ranking of the base Sinners on these measures. The order is also not a claim about combat performance.
The Sinners ranked by overall character appeal
12. Rodion
Rodion’s bold, sociable presentation makes her easy to notice, but in this cast her outward confidence can make her feel less immediately mysterious than the Sinners whose contradictions dominate their first impressions. She remains a lively presence; this placement reflects the ranking’s preference for characters whose inner conflict is most consistently foregrounded.

11. Hong Lu
Hong Lu’s composed manner and unusual perspective give him a distinctive place in the group. His calmness can read as disarming rather than straightforward, which creates room for intrigue, though his appeal here is quieter than the more forceful personalities higher up the list.
10. Meursault
Meursault stands out through restraint. His measured, literal manner offers a contrast to the cast’s more expressive members, and that contrast is a character hook in itself. The trade-off is that a deliberately controlled presence can feel less emotionally immediate.
9. Outis
Outis brings a commanding, strategic energy to the ensemble. Her confidence and formality make her memorable, especially when set against the group’s more chaotic dynamics. She ranks lower here because that strong persona can be more compelling as a source of friction than as an invitation to emotional closeness.
8. Gregor
Gregor’s weary, grounded quality gives the cast an appealingly human counterweight. He often feels like someone trying to manage the absurdity around him rather than dominate it. That understated approach is effective, even if it makes his presence less immediately theatrical than several others.

Faust’s certainty and intelligence make her a natural focal point whenever the story turns to the company’s plans or knowledge. The distance between what she appears to know and what she chooses to reveal is an enduring source of interest. Her cool, controlled presentation keeps her just outside the most emotionally engaging tier for this ranking.

6. Sinclair
Sinclair’s vulnerability gives him one of the clearest emotional entry points in the cast. His uncertainty and capacity for change make his development compelling to follow. He sits near the middle because his appeal is strongest when the story gives his internal struggle room to develop.
5. Ryōshū
Ryōshū has an unmistakable voice: severe, artistic, and difficult to mistake for anyone else. Her pared-down way of expressing herself gives even brief moments a distinctive edge. That specificity makes her highly memorable, though her deliberately abrasive qualities will not be equally inviting to every reader.
4. Ishmael
Ishmael’s practical, skeptical outlook creates productive tension with the company’s strange mission and the people around her. Her perspective gives the ensemble a strong grounding point, while her sharper edges make her more than a simple voice of reason. She ranks just outside the top three because her appeal depends more on sustained narrative context than on immediate eccentricity.

3. Heathcliff
Heathcliff’s volatile energy makes him one of the cast’s most forceful personalities. His anger can create conflict, but it also gives his relationships and emotional shifts real momentum. He is compelling because the bluntness is not the whole character; it leaves the reader watching for what lies beneath it.
2. Don Quixote
Don Quixote’s exuberance and grand self-image make her an unmistakable presence. Her theatrical enthusiasm can bring levity to the group, while the gap between ideals and reality gives that enthusiasm more texture than a one-note joke. She is among the most immediately entertaining Sinners, narrowly missing the top spot because this ranking favors a character whose presence also anchors the group’s central premise.

1. Yi Sang
Yi Sang takes the top position for his singular, contemplative presence and the way his inwardness adds a different rhythm to the ensemble. His appeal is less about volume than atmosphere: he can make a scene feel reflective even amid the company’s disorder. That distinctiveness, paired with the room his character leaves for interpretation, makes him the strongest overall character for this particular set of criteria.

A Sinner’s combat value cannot be inferred from this character list. Sinners can have multiple Identities, and those alternate versions have their own abilities, skillsets, strengths, and weaknesses. E.G.O are another part of the combat system; the official site describes them as tools originating from Abnormalities, while Prydwen’s introduction discusses E.G.O as special attacks associated with a Sinner and notes that Identities and E.G.O can be upgraded (official site; Prydwen introduction).
For a combat comparison, look at specific Identities and their roles rather than assigning one strength label to each base character. Prydwen’s tier list ranks Identities, with tiers including SSS, SS, S+, S, A, and B, and categories for damage dealer, status specialist, support, and tank. Its page displayed an update date of 6 October 2026; those tiers are a reference point for Identity performance, not a definitive ranking of the twelve Sinners as characters (Prydwen Limbus Company Tier List). Prydwen also maintains an Identity database (Prydwen Identities).
Tier lists remain editorial judgments. Pocket Tactics explicitly calls its list subjective and says Limbus Company has no competitive meta (Pocket Tactics tier list). Use such rankings as a way to compare particular options, not as a universal verdict on which Sinner is best.
