Its strongest reasons to choose it are the 54 g black or 55 g white build, a symmetrical shape shared with the Viper V3 HyperSpeed, and wireless polling up to 8000 Hz. Whether it is the better buy depends on how well the shape fits your hand, whether you value high polling, and how its current price compares with the successor.
What the Viper V3 Pro offers
Razer announced the Viper V3 Pro on April 23, 2024, as a wireless esports mouse built around its Focus Pro 35K Optical Sensor Gen-2 and HyperPolling support up to 8000 Hz. Razer lists 54 g for black and 55 g for white. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements of every retail sample. Razer also claims 99.8% sensor resolution accuracy; that figure is a published brand claim, not a third-party measurement.
The mouse has a symmetrical shape that RTINGS says is identical to the Viper V3 HyperSpeed. Finish options include black and white, as well as Faker and Sentinels editions. RTINGS reports that the special editions do not change the shape or internal hardware; its review tested the black version.
How it performs, according to independent testing
RTINGS reviewed the Viper V3 Pro on May 21, 2024, and lists a retest dated April 29, 2026. It praises the build quality, mouse feet, and raw performance. Its important qualification is that the performance improvement over the Viper V2 Pro is unlikely to be noticeable in-game for many users. That makes the V3 Pro’s appeal less about a guaranteed competitive advantage and more about its overall lightweight design and capabilities.

8000 Hz is the maximum supported wireless polling rate, not proof that every player will perceive a benefit. If you are choosing between mice, prioritize fit and the overall experience you want rather than treating the largest polling-rate number as a guaranteed improvement.
Battery life depends on polling settings
Razer advertises up to 95 hours of uninterrupted play. Tom’s Hardware specifies that this maximum is at 1000 Hz; it should not be read as expected runtime at 8000 Hz. Higher polling settings can affect battery life, so weigh the intended setting against how often you want to recharge.

Razer also describes an “auto-change polling rate” feature that adjusts polling during gameplay to reduce battery impact. This is a manufacturer claim; the cited coverage does not establish a measured runtime for every polling configuration.

The Pro is the clearer choice if you want the lighter construction, rechargeable internal battery, and 8000 Hz capability without separately buying the required dongle. If you are considering the HyperSpeed, compare its regional price and the cost of any accessory you would need rather than assuming the two mice offer the same out-of-box setup.

Should you buy the Viper V3 Pro or the Viper V4 Pro?
RTINGS now identifies the Viper V4 Pro as the V3 Pro’s replacement. That establishes the V4 Pro as the newer model, but the available evidence here does not support a detailed specification-by-specification verdict or a claim that it is superior in every respect.
Check the published specifications and current prices for both models in your region. The V3 Pro makes more sense when it costs meaningfully less and its shape and feature set suit you. If prices are close, compare the V4 Pro’s current specifications before buying rather than paying a premium for an older model.
Who should consider the Viper V3 Pro?
- Consider it if: you want a lightweight wireless esports mouse, like the symmetrical shape, and value having up to 8000 Hz polling available.
- Look elsewhere if: the shape does not fit your hand, you do not expect to benefit from high polling, or a newer model offers better value at your local price.
- Compare carefully if: you are choosing the V3 HyperSpeed for its shared shape, or weighing the V3 Pro against the V4 Pro. Account for the HyperSpeed’s separate 8K dongle requirement and compare live regional prices.
