Void Interactive confirmed on September 19, 2025, that it had ended its relationship with the Ready or Not community manager whose comments about Charlie Kirk’s killing had circulated from the game’s official Discord. The studio said the comments did not reflect its values. It did not specify the person’s employment status, so “fired” is not confirmed as a formal employment action.
What Void Interactive confirmed
In a Ready or Not Steam community update, Void Interactive said: “We are aware of comments made by our community manager about a recent tragic event. These statements do not reflect our values or represent our company. We have ended our relationship with this individual and reminded our team of the responsibility we all share when communicating on public platforms. Our focus remains on fostering a respectful and professional community around Ready or Not.”
The statement did not name Charlie Kirk or the community manager, identified in news coverage as Kaminsky. Void’s confirmed wording is that it ended its relationship with the individual; the statement does not describe the person as an employee or call the decision a firing.
What reports say happened in Discord
Kotaku reported on September 19, 2025, that around September 17, a user in Ready or Not’s official Discord asked Kaminsky to add Charlie Kirk’s name and variations of it to the server’s filtered-words list. After replying that the filter had been updated, Kaminsky reportedly added a personal comment: “Funny you mention that because me and my roomate are literally just talking about him getting shot. All I have to say is: Nothing of value was lost.”

Kotaku’s account and Game Developer’s follow-up attributed the wording to the Discord exchange. The quote is therefore best understood as reported by those outlets, rather than as an independently authenticated transcript here.
What remains unclear
Kotaku reported that Kaminsky’s employment status was unclear. Void’s phrase “ended our relationship” confirms a separation but does not establish whether Kaminsky was an employee, contractor, or volunteer moderator. The company statement also does not explain the terms or timing of that separation beyond its announcement.
