Was Ready or Not developer Void Interactive hacked?
Yes. Void Interactive confirmed a breach in April 2024 after Insider Gaming reported on April 16 that data had been taken. Insider Gaming added the studio’s confirmation in an April 17 update. Follow-up coverage placed the intrusion in March 2024.
The scale and the studio’s confirmation should be kept distinct: Void acknowledged the breach, but its quoted confirmation did not state a total volume or file count.
Where did the 4 TB figure come from?
Insider Gaming reported that more than 4 TB of data, comprising over 2.1 million files, had been stolen. The outlet said it had been shown the contents of stolen files. Those figures are the outlet’s account, not statistics publicly quantified by Void Interactive.

Insider Gaming’s headline referred to “full source code,” but the studio’s quoted description was narrower: some source code and directory information had been obtained. Insider Gaming said files it reviewed included Ready or Not source code and console build material. The available reporting does not establish that every part of the game’s source code was taken.
What information was reportedly exposed?
Void said user and staff-related information had not been breached or leaked. Its statements, as reported at the time, described development material, some source code, directory information, screenshots, and project-related information as involved. PC Gamer quoted Void as saying: “Our development assets and proprietary code remain secure and intact.” That contemporaneous statement does not negate the separate reporting that some source code was obtained; the accounts describe different aspects of the incident and do not provide a final forensic inventory.

Void also said evidence from its ongoing investigation suggested the attack was limited to the TeamCity services interface, allowing attackers to obtain screenshots of top-level project and company-related information. The studio characterized this as not involving sensitive data leakage. These were statements made while the investigation was ongoing, not a final public forensic conclusion.
How did the breach reportedly happen?
PC Gamer reported that Void attributed the intrusion to a vulnerability in the on-premises version of TeamCity. PC Gamer later corrected its report to clarify that the issue concerned on-premises TeamCity, not TeamCity cloud services. The reporting does not establish further technical details about the vulnerability or how it was exploited.

Did the breach affect players or the game’s development?
Void’s reported statement was that user and staff information was not exposed. The cited coverage does not establish that player accounts or personal records were compromised. It also does not provide a final account of the investigation, complete recovery status, or a definitive effect on future development. No specific release delay or change to the game’s development is established by these reports.
GameSpot’s April 19, 2024 follow-up likewise covered the confirmation and reports of stolen source code; the reporting available here does not resolve the incident’s eventual forensic findings.
