Why Real Racing 3 may no longer open
EA’s shutdown announcement said Real Racing 3 would be delisted and in-app purchases disabled on December 18, 2025, with its servers to be turned off on March 19, 2026. EA stated that the game would no longer be playable afterward. EA’s online-services shutdown listing gives March 20, 2026 as the service date for Real Racing 3. Both dates have passed.
EA’s Portuguese announcement, reproduced on EA Forums, says: “Depois disso, o Real Racing 3 não ficará mais disponível para jogar.” In English: “After that, Real Racing 3 will no longer be available to play.”
That service end is important context for reports that the game “won’t start,” “won’t open,” or “keeps crashing.” It does not establish what is happening on any one device: the available sources do not identify a device-specific cause or confirm a later workaround.

Was version 10.4.2 the cause?
That has not been established. The official sources cited here do not identify version 10.4.2 as the latest update, provide relevant release notes, or connect that version to the reported launch failures. Player discussions describe symptoms such as “the game won’t start” and “it will crash and not start again,” but those accounts do not prove a shared cause or a reliable fix. Low-risk checks for general app or device trouble
If you are trying to distinguish a local device problem from the ended service, EA’s general mobile-game guidance offers basic checks. These may help with ordinary app instability, but they are not an RR3-specific fix for the shutdown.

- Update the device and app. EA’s iOS troubleshooting guidance advises checking for the latest updates for both. The app may not be available to download again if it was not previously obtained, given EA’s delisting announcement.
- Restart an unresponsive device. EA recommends restarting for an unresponsive screen in its iOS guidance.
- On Android, check memory and account sign-in. EA’s Android mobile-games guide also advises checking available device memory and whether the player is signed in. Android menu names vary by device.
The cited guidance does not verify that clearing a cache, changing networks, reinstalling, or attempting offline play restores access to Real Racing 3 after the service end.
Before uninstalling: protect your save data
Do not uninstall just to test whether reinstalling will fix the launch problem unless you have confirmed your progress is linked to an account. EA warns that Guest-account progress can be lost when the app is removed.

- On iOS, EA says Guest progress may be lost if the game is uninstalled while the player is not signed in with an EA Account, Facebook, or Apple Account.
- EA’s Android guidance likewise warns that unlinked Guest progress can be lost if the app is uninstalled.
EA’s shutdown announcement said players who had previously downloaded the game could reinstall it from their account library only until the announced service closure. That availability window has passed, so deletion may also leave you unable to reinstall the app.

Device updates, a restart, and the general checks above can help identify routine local issues. They cannot reverse EA’s ended service. The available sources do not establish a way to restore playability after shutdown, nor do they confirm whether previously installed copies behave differently on particular devices.
