Critic-review excerpts suggest that Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth is an attractive, brisk action game, but not the deep, sprawling Metroidvania some players may want. Reviewers highlighted its pixel art and charm; reservations in the excerpts focus on relatively simple, linear exploration and a short run. These are recurring themes in the excerpts available here, not a complete survey of criticism or a verified current aggregate score.
What critics praise—and where they hesitate
The clearest positive theme in the surfaced PC excerpts is presentation: reviewers called the pixel art fantastic and the game charming. A Switch excerpt described it as an excellent, short Metroidvania. These comments point to a compact game whose visual style and action appeal, rather than an expansive world, are central to its attraction.
The main reservation is exploration depth. Some PC excerpts characterize the Metroidvania design as too simple, linear, or lacking in depth. That distinction matters: a game can use genre conventions without offering the layered route-finding, backtracking, and interconnected map that fans of larger Metroidvanias expect.
The excerpts do not establish a complete critical consensus. Aggregator pages can change, and a complete outlet list, audited review count, or current aggregate score is not established here.

Is it a good fit for the kind of Metroidvania you want?
| If you prioritize… | What the review excerpts suggest | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Visual style | Pixel art and charm drew praise in PC excerpts. | The excerpts do not establish that presentation alone will outweigh your gameplay preferences. |
| Deep exploration | Some reviewers found the design simple or linear. | It may not satisfy players seeking extensive interconnected exploration. |
| A focused adventure | A Switch excerpt praised it while calling it short. | That may suit players who want a compact game, but disappoint those expecting a long campaign. No dependable playtime figure is established here. |
| Lodoss War characters and story | The game stars Deedlit in a previously unknown story positioned as leading toward Record of Lodoss War: Diadem of the Covenant. | The available review excerpts do not establish how much narrative depth a player unfamiliar with the franchise will find. |
