Verdict: The RedMagic 10S Pro is an exceptional dedicated gaming phone, combining sustained Snapdragon performance, active cooling, a 7,050mAh battery, 144Hz uninterrupted display and shoulder triggers at a launch price below many premium gaming rivals. It is not an equally strong all-round smartphone: the cameras, IP54 durability, software-support window in the U.S. and global markets, lack of wireless charging and bulky design all matter. Buy it when gaming features are central to your phone use; choose a conventional flagship when cameras, water resistance and long-term polish matter more.
Launch pricing was $699 / £579 / AU$649 for the 12GB/256GB model. The official U.S. store later showed a temporary $649 price reduced from $699, but listed the phone as sold out when checked: REDMAGIC U.S. product page.

What changed from the RedMagic 10 Pro?
The 10S Pro is a refined performance edition, not a new chassis or a wholesale redesign. Its Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version runs at higher clocks and is paired with the RedCore R3 Pro, LPDDR5T memory, UFS 4.1 Pro storage and revised ICE-X cooling. Those changes matter most in benchmarks, emulation and long sessions where heat can limit a conventional phone. Messaging, browsing and ordinary photography feel much closer to the 10 Pro than the name suggests. TechRadar’s review likewise characterizes the processor as an overclocked version of the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The display, camera concept, gaming-oriented body and software experience remain broadly familiar. Owners of a RedMagic 9 Pro or earlier model should see a meaningful overall upgrade. A 10 Pro owner has a narrower case for replacing it: the upgrade makes sense when maximum sustained performance, improved thermals or a favorable resale and price gap are more important than novelty.

Gaming performance: the reason to buy it
Most premium 2025 phones are fast. The 10S Pro’s advantage is that it is designed to keep running hard. A physical fan, liquid-metal interface, large vapor chamber and aggressive performance profiles let it trade quietness and thinness for more stable performance over time.
Peak versus sustained performance
Initial frame rates and benchmark scores show what the chip can do briefly. A meaningful gaming evaluation watches frame-rate stability after 20–60 minutes, temperatures around the SoC and frame, battery drain, fan state and any throttling. The phone’s strongest case is demanding titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves and emulators during extended play. Triggers and Game Space
The 520Hz capacitive shoulder triggers can move aiming, shooting or other actions away from the touchscreen. Their usefulness depends on accurate per-game mapping and your grip; accidental presses and hand fatigue are possible. Game Space adds profiles, fan and performance controls, touch mapping and other enthusiast options. Frame interpolation or “boosting” can increase perceived smoothness in supported games, but may introduce artifacts or latency, so native game frame-rate support remains preferable.

Compatibility limits
A 144Hz panel does not make every game 144fps. Developers, Android frame caps, thermal conditions and selected performance modes determine the result. Some games remain limited to 60Hz or 120Hz. Check each title rather than buying on the panel number alone.
Display and ergonomics
The flat 6.85-inch AMOLED runs at up to 144Hz, reaches a listed peak of 2,000 nits and uses an under-display camera so there is no notch or punch-hole interrupting a game. Gorilla Glass 7i is listed in review specifications. That uninterrupted surface is genuinely useful in landscape play and video.
The trade is a broad, heavy phone. At about 229g and 8.9mm, it is less pocketable than a conventional flagship. Angular edges, fan openings, heat near the hands and a case that obstructs intake or exhaust can affect comfort. The flat rear and minimal camera bump are practical, while stereo speakers, a 3.5mm jack and optional RGB lighting reinforce the gaming identity.

Battery life and charging
The 7,050mAh battery is one of the 10S Pro’s clearest advantages. Reviews describe unusually strong mixed-use endurance and long gaming sessions, but no fixed number of hours applies to every player. Brightness, cellular signal, refresh rate, game settings, performance mode and fan operation can change consumption substantially.
For a useful test, record screen-on time separately for mixed use and maximum-performance gaming, then repeat with Wi-Fi and mobile data, 60Hz/120Hz/144Hz, and fan on and off. Record 0–50% and 0–100% charging times and temperatures; 80W charging is fast, but there is no wireless charging. The capacity contributes directly to the phone’s weight and thickness.

Cameras: adequate documentation, not flagship imaging
The stabilized 50MP main camera can handle casual daylight photos, but the system is not aimed at matching a Galaxy Ultra, Pixel Pro or iPhone. The ultrawide, low-light processing, digital zoom, video consistency and selfie quality are less competitive. This is best described as gaming-first camera hardware that trails conventional flagships in processing flexibility, night shots, selfie quality and zoom—not as a phone with unusable cameras.

Android 15 and RedMagic OS 10.5 present a relatively stock-like interface compared with older RedMagic software, while Game Space exposes the controls that distinguish the phone. Buyers should still check notification behavior, duplicate utilities, translation quality, Android Auto, banking apps, DRM and the freshness of security patches on their regional firmware. Notebookcheck’s observed patch level was time-sensitive and should not be treated as a permanent product characteristic.
Support depends on where you buy. Reports put U.S. and global coverage at three years of Android OS and security updates, while EU and UK listings describe five years of software support. “Five years” does not automatically mean five major Android upgrades, and the EU/UK commitment should not be assumed for a U.S. model. Read the support language for the exact SKU.

Durability and connectivity compromises
IP54 is limited dust and splash protection, not protection for a pool, bath or submersion. The fan vents explain both the cooling advantage and the absence of IP68-class sealing. There is also no wireless charging.
Before importing or buying an unlocked unit, check bands separately for AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, then confirm VoLTE, 5G, Wi-Fi calling and carrier certification. “Unlocked” means the SIM is not restricted; it does not guarantee every U.S. network feature. Regional specifications list physical SIM support, a headphone jack, multiple Bluetooth codecs and Widevine L1, but firmware and carrier behavior can differ: Notebookcheck specifications.

Who should buy it?
- Buy it if you play demanding Android games for long sessions, use emulators, value triggers and a headphone jack, and accept fan noise and a heavy body.
- Choose another phone if photography, IP68 protection, wireless charging, compact size, quiet operation, broad carrier support or long-term software polish is more important.
- Keep a RedMagic 10 Pro unless you need every available performance and thermal advantage or can upgrade at a small net cost.
The decisive question is simple: will you regularly use the fan, shoulder triggers and sustained-performance modes? If not, a conventional flagship’s better cameras, durability and support are worth more than benchmark leadership.
