The RedMagic 11 Pro is a performance-first Android gaming phone that launched globally in November 2025. It combines Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, RedMagic’s dedicated RedCore R4 gaming chip, a 7,500mAh battery, 144Hz AMOLED display, shoulder triggers and an unusual liquid-and-air cooling system. As of August 18, 2026, the phone was listed at $749 on RedMagic’s North American store, while the global store showed a $699 listing marked out of stock. Regional pricing, stock, configurations and chargers vary.
Global launch, current price and availability
RedMagic’s global launch promotion ran from November 13 to 18, 2025, with early access on November 18 and open sales beginning November 19. The early-bird price started at $669, but that launch offer is historical rather than a current price. See RedMagic’s launch announcement for the original timeline.

How fast is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5?
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is the phone’s main application processor and graphics platform. It provides the CPU and GPU power used by Android, games and emulators; RedCore R4 is a companion gaming processor, not a second replacement Snapdragon SoC.
Independent tests place the phone firmly in high-end territory, although benchmark results vary with firmware, performance mode, temperature, battery level and test version:
- Android Central: Geekbench 6 scores of 3,614 single-core and 10,785 multi-core, plus 7,105 in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme.
- Tom’s Guide: 3,653 single-core and 11,022 multi-core, plus 6,702 in Wild Life Extreme.
TechRadar described the phone as exceptionally fast, while also questioning how consistently its cooling system maintains peak performance during extended testing. These figures are useful indicators, not guaranteed in-game frame rates. The practical takeaway is simpler: the RedMagic 11 Pro has enough power for demanding Android games at high settings and high refresh rates, as well as serious emulation workloads, but no cooling system makes sustained heat disappear.
What RedCore R4 actually does
RedCore R4 is a dedicated gaming-oriented companion chip. RedMagic says it assists with touch processing, graphics and display optimization, frame-related features such as super resolution or frame interpolation where supported, and gaming controls or RGB functions.

Its existence is an official specification. The more specific claims about latency, rendering and frame generation are manufacturer claims. Independent benchmark and game results measure the complete phone—Snapdragon processor, RedCore R4, software and cooling together—not the R4 in isolation. It is therefore more accurate to describe RedCore R4 as specialized gaming hardware that may help the overall gaming pipeline, rather than claim that it independently delivers a fixed performance increase.
How the AquaCore cooling system works
The AquaCore system is best understood as a hybrid liquid-and-air thermal design, not a miniature desktop water-cooling loop. RedMagic lists flowing liquid cooling alongside a 13,116mm2 3D vapor chamber, Composite Liquid Metal 3.0, copper foil beneath the display, graphene, thermal gel, an aluminum-alloy mid-frame and an aerospace-aluminum air duct.

A waterproof turbo fan can run at up to 24,000 rpm. Android Central additionally reported a piezoelectric ceramic micropump circulating coolant through fine channels. RedMagic calls the design the world’s first mass-produced liquid-cooled smartphone; that is the company’s marketing claim and should not be treated as an independently established industry-wide fact.
In plain terms, the system spreads heat away from the Snapdragon chip, moves it through the phone’s thermal materials and uses airflow to help dissipate it. Liquid cooling can improve heat transfer, but it cannot eliminate the heat generated by high frame rates, charging or sustained processor load.
Testing is mixed. Android Central found strong performance and limited throttling, but also substantial heat and a 3DMark stress-test shutdown. TechRadar likewise found the phone extremely fast but questioned whether liquid cooling consistently preserved peak sustained performance. Results will also change with ambient temperature, a phone case, charging status, frame-rate limits and performance mode.

Gaming features and everyday play
- 144Hz AMOLED display: useful for supported games and responsive scrolling, though the game itself must support a high frame rate.
- 520Hz shoulder triggers: particularly useful for shooters, racing games and some emulators. Their value depends on game compatibility and whether the player prefers physical touch zones.
- Game Space: a dedicated gaming interface for performance controls and gaming tools.
- Active fan: helps manage heat during demanding sessions, but introduces noise and moving hardware.
- 7,500mAh battery: substantially larger than the batteries in many conventional flagships.
- 3.5mm headphone jack: convenient for wired gaming headsets and avoids wireless latency or battery concerns.
- Under-display selfie camera: keeps the display free of a notch or punch-hole, which is useful during full-screen play.
The flat rear and flush camera modules can also make the phone comfortable to hold in landscape orientation or place on a table. Gaming-focused styling, visible screws, lighting on applicable models and transparent cooling hardware will appeal to some players and alienate others.

The 7,500mAh battery is one of the RedMagic 11 Pro’s clearest advantages. Android Central reported roughly a day and a half under heavier use and up to two days with medium use, but those are review results rather than guaranteed figures. Its test unit reached a full charge in just under an hour with the bundled 80W charger.
RedMagic lists both 80W wired and 80W wireless charging. Actual endurance varies with display refresh rate, brightness, cellular signal, background apps, fan use and game load. Heavy gaming while charging can add heat, so buyers should verify the current Game Space bypass or charge-separation options on their regional firmware rather than assume that battery-protection behavior is identical everywhere.

Cameras
The camera system is secondary to gaming. Independent coverage identifies a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, 2MP macro camera and 16MP under-display selfie camera. Android Central called the cameras an afterthought, while Tom’s Guide found both image quality and selfie performance behind camera-focused flagships. The under-display design improves uninterrupted gaming but compromises selfie quality.
Software and support
RedMagic OS 11, based on Android 16 according to independent coverage, is built around gaming. Game Space is useful for players but can feel excessive during ordinary phone use. Reviewers noted UI quirks, bloatware and occasional stability issues.

RedMagic states that the phone will receive two major Android OS updates and three years of security updates from launch. That is a material limitation beside mainstream flagships with longer support policies. It may be acceptable for a buyer focused on gaming performance, but it weakens the phone’s case as a long-term all-purpose flagship.
Size, noise and durability
The phone is large and heavy compared with ordinary flagships, and its built-in fan can be audible in a quiet room. A fan also brings practical trade-offs: dust and debris around the intake or exhaust, possible battery drain during continuous operation, reduced airflow inside a restrictive case and mechanical complexity that passively cooled phones do not have. These are engineering considerations, not evidence of a documented failure rate for this model.
IPX8 means water-ingress resistance under specified test conditions. The “X” does not provide a dust-ingress rating, so IPX8 should not be described as fully dustproof or automatically equivalent to IP68 or IP69.
Who should buy the RedMagic 11 Pro?
Buy it if gaming is your priority. The phone makes the most sense for players who want high frame rates, shoulder controls, a large battery, active cooling, a headphone jack and unusually high memory and storage options. It is also a compelling fit for emulation users who value sustained performance and physical control features more than camera quality or a lightweight design.

Camera-first buyers, users who dislike fan noise, shoppers seeking long software support, and anyone prioritizing carrier convenience, polished software or strong resale value should consider mainstream alternatives. ASUS ROG phones are the closest gaming-focused rivals; OnePlus performance flagships offer a more conventional Android experience and stronger cameras; Samsung and Google phones generally make more sense for cameras, updates and ecosystem integration. Exact alternative prices and stock change frequently and are not included here.
Verdict
The RedMagic 11 Pro is one of the most aggressively specified gaming phones available in its class. Its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, RedCore R4, 144Hz screen, 520Hz triggers, 7,500mAh battery and AquaCore thermal hardware form a coherent gaming package. The liquid system helps manage heat, but mixed extended-test results show why it should not be sold as a guarantee against throttling.
Its value depends on whether you will use the gaming-specific hardware. For performance-first mobile gamers and emulation users, the compromises can be worthwhile. For everyone else, weaker cameras, specialized software, a shorter support policy, fan noise and regional availability make a more conventional flagship the safer purchase.
