Why Rematch launched without crossplay
Sloclap said it had tried to include crossplay at launch, but Rematch was the studio’s first game with the feature and the team encountered unforeseen technical complexities. When crossplay came to Rematch
Crossplay arrived in Patch 3 on September 5, 2025. Sloclap’s patch notes said players could matchmake and join friends across the platforms on which Rematch had released. What Rematch crossplay includes
Sloclap defined the feature as cross-platform matchmaking and social play, including inviting and playing with friends across platforms. It is distinct from cross-platform progression: in September 2025, the studio said it had no plans at that time for progression to carry between platforms. That was a dated statement, not confirmation of the current progression policy. Sloclap’s September 5 announcement
The available announcements establish when crossplay launched and what Sloclap said it included. They do not verify platform-specific settings or whether the progression position has changed since September 2025. A controller mentioned in patch notes does not enable crossplay; the feature was delivered through a game update.
