This guide is for Resident Evil 4 (2023), Capcom’s remake of the 2005 game—not the original release. - Puzzles: look for dedicated help with combination locks, cave puzzles, the church, swords, clocks, and the wrench.

How to approach puzzles and missed items
When you are stuck, identify the object or mechanism named by the in-game objective and look for a guide specific to that puzzle and chapter. The remake has distinct combination-lock, cave, church, sword, clock, and wrench puzzle topics; do not assume an answer for the 2005 original applies to the 2023 remake.

For a missed treasure or collectible, first identify its category—such as a key, Wayshrine, Hexagon Piece, or Clockwork Castellan—then consult a location guide for that exact item. The available guide index establishes these as separate topics, but it does not provide verified coordinates or a complete chapter-by-chapter route.
Combat, Ashley, and inventory basics
Capcom’s launch overview describes several remake combat tools: parrying with the knife, quick stabs, melee follow-ups, and finishing certain downed enemies. The Merchant sells weapons and modifications. These are systems to consider as you progress; the official overview does not establish a best weapon or comparative performance ranking.

Leon can issue Ashley commands to stay close or spread out, and she can be helped up if she is downed. Organizing the attaché case is another part of managing your resources. Choose weapons and upgrades in light of your current ammunition, combat needs, and available resources rather than treating any one loadout as universally best.
Which game and platforms this guide covers
Capcom identifies Resident Evil 4 (2023) as a remake of the 2005 game. Its March 24, 2023 launch article lists PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Capcom’s March 13, 2024 release also lists iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with those versions released on December 20, 2023. Device and storefront compatibility can vary, so check Capcom’s information for your specific device before buying.

Capcom’s 2024 announcement says the Gold Edition includes the main game, the Separate Ways DLC, and the DLC Extra Pack set. That description does not establish current retailer stock or which formats are available in a given region.
