Play the original first if you want the source version
The original is the appropriate choice if your priority is seeing the game Capcom is remaking rather than waiting for its new interpretation. The official US PlayStation Store listing is for Code: Veronica X. Because a store page is not proof of universal availability, check the edition, platform, region, and seller before purchasing or planning to play it.

Choose the original if you want to play the source game now and can find an edition compatible with your system.
