For most players, buy the Standard Edition. It contains the complete Resident Evil Requiem game, and the Deluxe Edition adds optional costumes, weapon skins, charms, filters, audio and files rather than extra story content. Choose Deluxe only when those bonuses matter and the price premium makes sense. Choose Steelbook Deluxe for the physical case and lenticular card, and choose the Nintendo Switch 2 Generation Pack only if you also want Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition.
Prices and availability vary by platform and country. The US PlayStation Store snapshot accessed October 13, 2026 listed Standard at $69.99, Deluxe at $79.99 normally, and a temporary Deluxe sale price of $55.99 through October 22, 2026. Recheck the exact storefront before paying.

Resident Evil Requiem editions at a glance
| Version | What is included | Best for | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | The Resident Evil Requiem base game | Players who want the full game without cosmetic extras | Digital and physical prices depend on platform, retailer and region |
| Deluxe Edition | Base game plus the Deluxe Kit: five costumes, four weapon skins, two charms, two screen filters, a custom sound pack and additional in-game files | Players who specifically want the listed bonus items | It does not add a separate campaign or the two earlier games |
| Steelbook Deluxe Edition | Everything in Deluxe, plus a steelbook case and limited-edition lenticular card | Physical collectors | Retail stock and the exact package can differ by territory and store |
| Nintendo Switch 2 Generation Pack | Resident Evil Requiem, Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition | Switch 2 owners who want all three games | This is a three-game bundle, not another name for Deluxe |
Capcom describes the underlying game content as basically the same across platform versions; hardware and controller features are where the meaningful platform differences appear. That makes the edition decision mostly about extras, packaging and bundles rather than a different Requiem campaign.
What comes with the Standard Edition?
Standard includes Resident Evil Requiem itself. There is no indication in the listed edition details of a cut-down story, restricted areas or a timed trial. If your priority is playing the campaign and you do not collect digital cosmetics, Standard supplies the essential purchase.
#1 Best Overall
- Amazon Exclusive - 2 sided poster included in every game!
- Grace Ashcroft, an FBI intelligence analyst who is introverted and easily scared, representing a new type of character for the Resident Evil series. Grace will experience horror from the same perspective as the player as she learns to overcome her fears throughout the course of the story.
- For the first time ever in Resident Evil history, players will be able to freely switch between both first- and third-person perspectives throughout the game.
- An Anniversary to Remember: With March 2026 marking the Resident Evil series’ 30-year anniversary, Resident Evil Requiem marks its own milestone in the franchise.
- Pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem are now open, with the bonus of Grace’s costume: Apocalypse. Please note that the picture weapon does not come with the costume, but it can be obtained in-game.
The official US PlayStation Store listing showed the digital Standard Edition at $69.99 when accessed on October 13, 2026. That is a dated US storefront price, not a worldwide MSRP promise: taxes, currency conversion, regional pricing, sales and physical-retail discounts can change what you pay.
Capcom confirms that physical retail copies exist. A disc buyer should check the case and product code for the correct platform, language and territory before opening it, particularly when importing a copy or buying downloadable add-ons separately.
What is included in the Deluxe Edition?
Deluxe contains the full game and a Deluxe Kit. The kit is made up of cosmetic and collectible-style content rather than additional story chapters. Capcom’s preorder announcement lists the complete set, while the US PlayStation listing identifies the named items.
Five costumes
- Grace’s Dimitrescu costume
- Grace’s Film Noir costume
- Leon’s RE4 costume
- Leon’s Apocalypse costume
- Leon’s Film Noir costume
The names indicate alternate character looks. They do not establish that the costumes change abilities, difficulty or the outcome of the story.
Four weapon skins
Deluxe includes four weapon skins. The official listing confirms the quantity, but the supplied product information does not provide separate names for each skin. Treat them as appearance changes unless the in-game description says otherwise; do not assume a skin is a new weapon or a gameplay upgrade.
Two charms
- Mr. Raccoon charm
- DSO Emblem charm
These are collectible-style accessories attached through the game’s charm system. Their inclusion does not mean that Deluxe grants extra missions or a different progression path.
Two screen filters
- Apocalypse filter
- Film Noir filter
Filters alter the presentation of the game. They are optional visual treatments, so their value depends on whether you enjoy replaying or viewing the campaign with a different look.
Audio and file extras
- Raccoon City Classic custom sound pack
- Letters from 1998 additional in-game files
These extras add atmosphere and collectible-style material. They are not listed as a separate expansion, soundtrack release or story episode.
Does Resident Evil Requiem have a Steelbook edition?
Yes. Capcom’s Steelbook Deluxe Edition combines all Deluxe contents with a steelbook case and a limited-edition lenticular card. The physical packaging is the reason to choose it; the playable and digital bonuses are the same Deluxe Kit described above.
Capcom does not establish one universal stock level or one global package configuration. Retailers can sell territory-specific versions, and a listing may show a preorder allocation, a replacement case or a bundle with different promotional materials. Before ordering, confirm all of the following on the individual retailer page:
Rank #2
- JUEGO SONY PS5 RESIDENT EVIL VILLAGE GOLD EDITION
- The platform (for example, PS5 or another supported system)
- Whether the listing explicitly says Steelbook Deluxe Edition
- That the steelbook and lenticular card are included, not merely pictured
- Whether the item is new, sealed, used or a separate case
- The shipping country, release timing and return policy
If the case and card are not important to you, Deluxe or Standard avoids paying a collector premium whose amount is not established in the available listings.

What is the Nintendo Switch 2 Generation Pack?
The Generation Pack is a separate Switch 2 bundle containing three complete games:
- Resident Evil Requiem
- Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition
- Resident Evil Village Gold Edition
It is not a Deluxe Edition label and should not be compared as though it only adds costumes to Requiem. Its value comes from the two included earlier games. If you already own both Gold Editions, paying for the bundle again may not be useful; if you are new to the recent series or want one Switch 2 purchase covering all three, evaluate the combined price against buying them separately.
The Generation Pack is tied to Nintendo Switch 2. Do not assume that a PlayStation, Xbox or PC purchase transfers to it, or that a Switch 2 bundle grants entitlements on another platform.
Preorder costume: historical bonus versus current add-on
Capcom originally advertised a Grace costume as a preorder bonus in its November 26, 2025 announcement. The current US PlayStation Store listing instead shows Grace’s Apocalypse costume as a separately purchasable $2.99 add-on. That means an old preorder article should not be used as proof that the costume is still free or permanently exclusive.

Prices, discounts and the real Deluxe premium
The following figures are a time-stamped US digital snapshot from the official PlayStation Store, not a universal price chart:
| Edition or item | Observed price | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $69.99 | US PlayStation Store listing accessed October 13, 2026 |
| Deluxe Edition list/original price | $79.99 | US PlayStation Store listing; standard listed price before the temporary sale |
| Deluxe Edition sale price | $55.99 | Temporary US PlayStation Store sale shown October 13, 2026, scheduled through October 22, 2026 |
| Grace’s Apocalypse costume add-on | $2.99 | Separately listed on the US PlayStation Store at the time of access |
| Steelbook Deluxe and Generation Pack | Not stated in the cited listings | Check the current retailer or platform store in your region |
On that particular October 13 snapshot, the Deluxe sale price was lower than Standard. That is a temporary promotion, not evidence that Deluxe normally costs less or that the same deal exists on Xbox, PC, Switch 2 or in another country. Compare the checkout total, taxes, delivery and any physical-versus-digital difference at the moment you buy.
When the list-price premium is worthwhile
At the observed list prices, Deluxe represented a $10 increase over Standard. That premium buys the named cosmetic and collectible items only. A player who will never equip alternate costumes, filters, charms or audio has little reason to pay it once the sale ends. A fan who values every listed item can reasonably treat the premium as an extras package, but there is no independent edition-value study that establishes a universal “best” price.

Choose Standard when you want the game itself
- You primarily want to play the campaign.
- Cosmetic outfits, weapon skins and filters are low priority.
- You prefer the lowest normal purchase price.
- You may later buy only a specific add-on you actually want.
Choose Deluxe when the exact bonus list matters
- You want both Grace Dimitrescu and Film Noir costumes, plus the three Leon costumes.
- You will use the four weapon skins, two charms, filters or Raccoon City Classic audio pack.
- You value the Letters from 1998 files as part of a completionist collection.
- The current price premium is acceptable after checking your local store.
Choose Steelbook Deluxe for physical collecting
- You specifically want the steelbook case and lenticular card.
- You have confirmed that the retailer’s package contains both physical items.
- You accept that stock, shipping and packaging can vary by territory.
Choose the Generation Pack for a three-game Switch 2 library
- You are buying on Nintendo Switch 2.
- You want Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition as well as Requiem.
- You do not already own the two earlier Gold Editions, or the bundle price is better for your situation.
Platforms, cross-play and region compatibility
Capcom’s November 2025 preorder announcement named PS5, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and Epic Games Store. Later product details list PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. Storefront naming can therefore differ between announcements, but buyers should select the exact platform edition shown by their store rather than infer compatibility from a generic PC or console label.
Rank #3
- Intense horror experience with dark narrative
- Improved images and refined game mechanics included
- Players take on the role of Leon S Kennedy
- Mission to save the president's daughter from danger
- Challenging environments and strategic combat scenarios await
Capcom’s support FAQ says crossplay and cross-saves are not supported. Progress made on one platform does not automatically follow you to another, and multiplayer features cannot be assumed to work across console and PC ecosystems.
The same FAQ cautions that normal operation is not guaranteed when software, hardware or downloadable content comes from a different country or region. Keep the game, account and add-ons aligned to one territory whenever possible. Region mismatches can affect redemption, access and support even when the disc or code appears to be the same.
Controller and hardware differences
Capcom says the core game content is basically the same across platform versions, while hardware and controller features differ. The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is supported, but it is an optional accessory and is not included in any Requiem edition or in the Generation Pack.
How to check a listing before you buy
- Identify the platform first. Confirm PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 or the correct PC storefront before comparing editions.
- Read the edition name in text. “Deluxe,” “Steelbook Deluxe” and “Generation Pack” describe different products; a marketing image alone is not enough.
- Expand the contents section. Verify the Deluxe Kit items, or verify all three games for the Generation Pack.
- Check the seller’s territory. Match the game, account and downloadable content regions.
- Record the final price and sale end date. A displayed discount can expire before checkout, and digital and physical totals can differ after tax or shipping.
- For physical collector editions, verify the actual inclusions. Confirm the steelbook, lenticular card, disc and condition, then save the listing or receipt.
Common buying mistakes and fixes
Mistaking Deluxe for a story expansion
The Deluxe Kit is a collection of costumes, skins, charms, filters, audio and files. If you expected new chapters, buy Standard unless a separate expansion is explicitly listed.
Assuming every preorder bonus remains free
The Grace costume moved from a historical preorder promotion to a separately listed $2.99 US PlayStation add-on. Check the current platform offer instead of relying on an old announcement.
Comparing a temporary sale with permanent value
The $55.99 Deluxe price was tied to an October 13–22, 2026 US PlayStation Store promotion. Use it as a dated deal, not as a normal cross-platform price.
Buying an imported add-on for a different account region
Keep software, hardware and DLC in the same country or region to avoid the compatibility problem described in Capcom’s support guidance.

Expecting cross-save after changing platforms
Crossplay and cross-saves are not supported, so choose the platform on which you expect to keep playing and do not plan a purchase around transferring progress.
What the sales milestone tells you—and what it does not
Capcom reported on March 16, 2026 that worldwide sales of Resident Evil Requiem, released February 27, 2026, exceeded 6 million units, the fastest a title in the series had reached that milestone. The same release put cumulative Resident Evil franchise sales above 183 million units as of December 31, 2025. Those figures show broad commercial reach, but they do not measure which edition sold best or prove that Deluxe offers better value. Edition choice should remain based on the contents, price and platform fit described above.
Bottom line
Buy Standard if you want Resident Evil Requiem’s complete game with no need for cosmetic extras. Buy Deluxe when its five costumes, four weapon skins, two charms, two filters, custom sound pack and Letters from 1998 files are worth the premium at your storefront. Buy Steelbook Deluxe only after confirming the physical case and lenticular card. On Switch 2, evaluate the Generation Pack separately because it bundles Requiem with the Gold Editions of Resident Evil 7 biohazard and Resident Evil Village. Always recheck regional pricing, sale dates, stock and add-on compatibility before checkout.
