No public Resident Evil Requiem demo came out before the game’s February 27, 2026 launch. A downloadable demo was listed for May 27, 2026—three months later. It lets players try part of the early stages, but its save data cannot be carried into the full game.
When did the Resident Evil Requiem demo come out?
Capcom announced Resident Evil Requiem for release on February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The public PS5 demo’s PlayStation Store listing gives May 27, 2026 as its release date, so it followed the full game rather than arriving before it. Capcom’s release announcement and the PlayStation Store demo listing establish that chronology.

What can you play in the demo?
The PlayStation Store says, “The demo version allows you to play part of the game’s early stages.” Steam likewise describes a chance to try the opening stages. Neither listing describes a complete version of the game; the demo is a limited sample. See the Steam listing for its PC description.
Can demo progress transfer to the full game?
No. The PlayStation Store listing says demo save data cannot be transferred to the full game. Treat the demo as a separate preview rather than a way to continue a saved playthrough after buying or launching the full game.

Where is the demo available?
The reviewed official listings verify a PS5 demo on the PlayStation Store and an opening-stage demo on Steam for PC. They do not establish a complete list of demo platforms, so availability on other systems should not be assumed from these listings.
Is the demo still useful after launch?
It can still provide a short opportunity to try the opening stages, including a practical check of how the game runs on a PC before purchase. It does not offer the whole game, and its save cannot be carried over. Capcom said on March 22, 2026, that Resident Evil Requiem had reached over six million players around the world; that is a dated milestone, not a current player count. Capcom’s statement was dated the following day in its announcement page.
