Resident Evil Requiem is built around two very different campaigns: Grace Ashcroft’s cautious investigation and Leon S. Kennedy’s combat-heavy action. The safest way through the game is not to defeat every enemy. With Grace, study infected enemies, manage supplies, and craft only what the route demands. With Leon, control space, parry when it is safe, follow with melee attacks, and reserve healing items and ammunition for mandatory fights.
This guide begins spoiler-light, then moves through the critical progression checkpoint currently documented for the Care Center and Central Hall. Optional puzzle rewards, collectibles, boss tactics, endings, and the post-game Final Puzzle are separated behind increasingly serious spoiler warnings. The game launched on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, and Capcom identifies it as the ninth mainline Resident Evil game.

Resident Evil Requiem at a glance
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Who are the playable characters? | Grace Ashcroft and Leon S. Kennedy. |
| How do their sections differ? | Grace emphasizes investigation, scarcity, enemy analysis, stealth, and crafting. Leon emphasizes firearms, melee attacks, parries, weapon parts, and positioning. |
| Can you change perspective? | Yes. The game supports first- and third-person perspectives. |
| What platforms are supported? | PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. |
| What is the main resource rule? | Spend resources on progression and mandatory encounters first. Optional fights are often less valuable than the ammunition they consume. |
Capcom’s official release information describes the contrast between fear-focused horror and action, while Nintendo’s official overview details the two protagonists’ different equipment and resource systems.

Choose difficulty for your preferred resource margin
Resident Evil Requiem offers multiple difficulty settings. There is no documented universally best choice: difficulty changes how much pressure combat and resource management place on you, while route knowledge remains important on every setting.
#1 Best Overall
- TRIFORCE TITANIUM 50 MM DRIVERS — Our cutting-edge proprietary design divides the driver into 3 parts for the individual tuning of highs, mids, and lows—producing brighter, clearer audio with richer highs and more powerful lows
- HYPERCLEAR CARDIOID MIC — An improved pickup pattern ensures more voice and less noise as it tapers off towards the mic’s back and sides, with the sweet spot easily placed at the mouth because of the mic’s bendable design
- ADVANCED PASSIVE NOISE CANCELLATION — Sturdy closed earcups fully cover the ears to prevent noise from leaking into the headset, with its cushions providing a closer seal for more sound isolation
- LIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN WITH MEMORY FOAM EAR CUSHIONS — At just 240 g, the headset features thicker headband padding and memory foam ear cushions with leatherette to keep gaming in peak form during grueling tournaments and training sessions
- WORKS WITH WINDOWS SONIC — Make the most of the headset’s powerful drivers by pairing it with lifelike surround sound that places audio with pinpoint accuracy, heightening in-game awareness and immersion
- First playthrough: Choose the setting that lets you learn enemy behavior without turning every encounter into a forced ammunition drain.
- Exploration and story: A more forgiving setting is useful if you want to investigate rooms, read files, and solve optional puzzles without restarting frequently.
- Challenge runs: Higher difficulties make Grace’s inventory decisions and Leon’s parry timing more important. Do not assume that a harder setting can be solved by carrying more ammunition; the route still determines what you can afford to spend.
Difficulty and perspective are separate choices. Changing from first person to third person—or vice versa—can improve visibility, comfort, or atmosphere, but it does not replace learning routes, recognizing attack tells, or managing supplies. Capcom’s release material confirms the perspective options; there is not enough documented testing to call one perspective objectively superior.
Grace Ashcroft: play for information before damage
Grace’s sections are the survival-horror and investigation side of Requiem. Nintendo describes her as limited by the supplies she can obtain and carry. Her most important habit is therefore to ask whether an encounter needs to be won at all.
- Analyze before committing: Read an infected enemy’s behavior and apparent threat before using ammunition. A dangerous target may be better avoided, redirected, or passed through after opening the route.
- Keep inventory flexible: Leave room for key items and crafting materials. A full inventory can turn a useful pickup into a backtracking problem.
- Use infected blood deliberately: Grace can use infected enemy blood to craft items, ammunition, and injectors. Some injectors can kill certain enemies in one hit, so do not spend them casually on a target that can be bypassed.
- Plan the return route: Before opening an optional box or entering a suspicious side room, identify where you will retreat if the encounter becomes unsafe.
- Do not equate scarcity with helplessness: The blood-crafting system rewards players who examine enemies and collect the right materials instead of firing at everything immediately.
Leon S. Kennedy: turn defense into damage
Leon is equipped for more direct confrontation. Nintendo’s overview identifies firearms, a hatchet, melee attacks, parries, confiscated enemy weapons, an attaché case, and customizable weapon parts.
Recommended Free Tools
- Fight from a position: Stand where you can retreat, circle an obstacle, or separate enemies. A strong weapon is less useful if several attackers can surround you.
- Learn the parry tell: Do not press the parry button simply because an enemy is nearby. Wait for the attack’s committed motion, then use the opening for a melee follow-up when the area is clear.
- Use melee after control: A parry or stun is valuable because it can save ammunition. It is not a reason to remain in close range after the opening disappears.
- Check confiscated weapons: Enemy weapons can temporarily change your options. Use them when they solve the immediate combat problem, but keep track of what you still have available after the encounter.
- Spend weapon parts with a plan: Customization should support your preferred range and encounter style. Avoid treating every part as an automatic upgrade if installing it makes your loadout less flexible.
- Protect healing items: Leon’s combat tools can make ordinary enemies manageable. Keep healing for mandatory encounters and situations where retreat is no longer realistic.
Saving and inventory habits
- Make a manual save whenever the game provides a safe saving opportunity before a puzzle, optional detour, or major objective.
- Keep one save before committing to a large-area objective if you are collecting files, charms, coins, Mr. Raccoon figures, lore fragments, or weapon upgrades.
- Separate progression items from combat supplies. Do not discard a key item merely because it has no immediate combat use.
- Before leaving an area, check side rooms, locked drawers, puzzle boxes, and readable documents. If the game gives a clear transition into a new location, assume the previous area may become harder to revisit until confirmed otherwise.
- When Grace’s inventory is full, use or store materials only after deciding whether the next objective is exploration, crafting, or combat.
Critical-path walkthrough
The supplied official material confirms the characters, systems, platforms, and the Care Center-to-Central-Hall puzzle progression, but it does not establish a complete room-by-room chapter list, every safe-room location, or a verified table of all lock codes. This walkthrough therefore gives the confirmed progression without inventing room names, combinations, damage values, or points of no return. Use the linked guide hubs for any code or collectible location that is not identified here.
Care Center: investigate the puzzle boxes
Progression spoiler: early-area puzzle solution
The Care Center is a major exploration gate. Your objective is to search the area, solve the puzzle boxes, and collect the three Quartz items required for the Central Hall door.
- Search before spending supplies. Explore the Care Center methodically and examine interactable objects. Grace’s route rewards observation more than indiscriminate combat.
- Locate the puzzle boxes. Treat each box as its own puzzle. Follow the clues presented by the box and the surrounding area rather than assuming that one combination opens every box.
- Collect the rewards. The Care Center puzzle-box sequence yields Moon Quartz, Sun Quartz, and Star Quartz.
- Do not confuse reward puzzles with ordinary locks. The boxes are part of the route to the Central Hall door, while other locks, drawers, and safes may be optional rewards.
- Prepare for the next transition. Before using the Quartz, finish any nearby reading, resource collection, or optional exploration you can safely complete. Keep a save if you are pursuing completion.
For visual clue explanations and the individual box solutions, consult PC Gamer’s Resident Evil Requiem puzzle-box guide. Its key progression point is that the boxes provide the Moon, Sun, and Star Quartz used in the next gate.
Central Hall: open the Quartz door
Take the three Quartz rewards from the Care Center to the Central Hall door. Insert the Moon Quartz, Sun Quartz, and Star Quartz into the door’s corresponding positions to advance.

This is a mandatory progression puzzle, not merely a resource reward. If the door does not open, check that all three Quartz pieces are in your inventory and that each has been placed in the matching symbol position. Do not discard or combine these items as ordinary crafting materials.

- Identify which items are mandatory keys and which are optional rewards.
- Use Grace’s enemy analysis or Leon’s combat control before spending rare ammunition.
- Save before a major door, arena approach, or irreversible story interaction.
- Perform a final sweep for files, charms, antique coins, Mr. Raccoon figures, lore fragments, and weapon upgrades before crossing a clear area transition.
For the current chapter-by-chapter route, the major guide hubs cover the areas that cannot be reconstructed safely from a short official overview: PC Gamer’s walkthrough and puzzle index, Game8’s weapons, bosses, challenges, and collectible coverage, and GameSpot’s guide hub. Their specific codes and locations should be checked against your game version before treating them as definitive.
Puzzle, lock, and security-device index
Use this table to distinguish progression puzzles from optional rewards. A code or sequence is included only where the supplied research identifies one.
| Location or puzzle | Type | Clue or method | Answer/reward | Mandatory? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Care Center puzzle boxes | Progression puzzle sequence | Examine and solve the individual boxes using their presented clues. | Moon Quartz, Sun Quartz, and Star Quartz. | Yes, for the documented Central Hall progression. |
| Central Hall door | Security/progression device | Insert the three Quartz pieces obtained from the Care Center. | Opens the route forward. | Yes. |
| Other locks, safes, and drawers | Usually reward puzzles | Search nearby documents and environmental clues; verify the combination in a current area guide. | Resources, upgrades, collectibles, or lore, depending on the device. | Not established by the supplied dossier. |
| Final Puzzle | Post-game puzzle | Gather clues during the first playthrough and attempt the puzzle during a second playthrough. | 20,000 CP, according to the cited secondary guide. | No, post-game. |
Puzzle categories: Mandatory progression puzzles open the route. Reward puzzles provide supplies, upgrades, or collectibles. Lore puzzles may contribute to interpreting the story or completing late-game requirements. Post-game puzzles, including the Final Puzzle, are separate from the first clear and should not be mistaken for missing critical-path content.
Boss and monster strategy
Boss spoiler warning: The following section discusses encounter strategy and late-game combat principles. Specific boss names and story reveals are omitted here because the supplied research does not provide a verified encounter roster or attack-by-attack list.
Game8 and GameSpot maintain encounter-specific boss coverage. Their guides are the appropriate references for arena order and named attack patterns. The following principles are safe across the two character styles and avoid unsupported claims about hit counts, damage multipliers, or optimal weapons.
| Playable character | What to watch | Best general response | Fallback strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grace | Enemy behavior, movement tells, available retreat routes, and whether the target is vulnerable to a crafted injector. | Analyze first. Use blood crafting and ammunition only when the encounter or route requires it. Look for stun or escape opportunities rather than treating damage as the sole solution. | Retreat, reposition, and preserve rare supplies if the arena permits disengagement. |
| Leon | Attack commitment, arena hazards, distance, nearby cover, and openings after a parry or stagger. | Maintain space, parry attacks you can read, then use a melee follow-up or a controlled firearm burst. Weapon parts and confiscated weapons can change the safest range. | Circle the arena, separate threats, and spend healing only when the fight cannot be reset by repositioning. |
Boss preparation checklist
- Save before entering the arena or triggering the encounter.
- Carry at least one healing option if the fight has no safe retreat.
- Do not empty your strongest weapon before confirming that the encounter is mandatory.
- For Grace, reserve the materials needed for injectors and ammunition rather than crafting everything immediately.
- For Leon, keep a weapon with a dependable mid-range option and leave enough inventory space for dropped or confiscated weapons.
- Watch for phase changes, environmental hazards, and new attack tells instead of repeating the same response after the boss changes behavior.
Game8’s boss and strategy coverage and GameSpot’s guide hub are useful cross-references, but exact recommendations can depend on difficulty, perspective, weapon parts, and the resources carried into the arena.

Do not combine every collectible into one checklist. Separate the categories below so that a missing file does not get confused with a missing charm or challenge reward. The researched guide coverage identifies these categories, but it does not establish a definitive total count or every last-safe-opportunity location.
| Category | What to record | Best collection habit |
|---|---|---|
| Files | Area, sub-area, title or identifying line, and whether it was read. | Read documents immediately and record them before opening the next major route. |
| Antique coins | Exact room and nearby landmark. | Sweep shelves, corners, containers, and side rooms before advancing. |
| Charms | Pickup location and access requirement. | Check optional rooms after obtaining each new key or traversal ability. |
| Mr. Raccoon figures | Area and line of sight from the nearest safe position. | Listen and look carefully in side spaces; do not assume a combat arena is the only important room. |
| Lore fragments | Clue text, location, and any apparent ending relevance. | Keep a separate lore log because these may matter differently from ordinary files. |
| Weapon upgrades and parts | Weapon, part, area, and whether the item was installed or stored. | Compare the part with your preferred range and reserve ammunition before installing it. |
| Challenge items and rewards | Challenge name, requirement, reward, and completion state. | Check the challenge menu after major milestones instead of assuming rewards are automatic. |
How to avoid missing items
- Make a manual save before a story objective that appears likely to close an area.
- Search every branch before using a conspicuous progression item.
- Write down locked doors rather than repeatedly returning to them without a new key or clue.
- After a character transition, review both the inventory and the map. Grace and Leon’s resource priorities are different, and an item that was safe to leave earlier may not remain accessible later.
- Do not publish or rely on an unverified “all collectibles” total. Counts and locations should be checked against the current version and at least one complete area-by-area source.
Game8’s Resident Evil Requiem coverage includes collectible categories such as antique coins, Mr. Raccoon figures, files, charms, and lore fragments. Treat its location tables—and any other secondary guide—as version-sensitive until cross-checked.

These eye-catching lights give your setup a gamer-ready look while maintaining focus on performance. (*Note: The USB connector is for LED lighting only)
Secondary walkthrough coverage describes at least two principal outcomes based on whether the player chooses to destroy Elpis or release Elpis.
- Destroy Elpis: Choose the destroy option at the relevant late-game decision.
- Release Elpis: Choose the release option. PC Gamer’s ending coverage reports an additional boss encounter and a post-credits scene for this outcome.
The release outcome is the ending most strongly positioned for continuation because of that additional encounter and post-credits material. It should not be called the confirmed canon ending: Capcom has not officially established that interpretation in the supplied research. Likewise, do not assume that seeing the extra scene proves a future story direction.
For a first playthrough, make a separate save before the Elpis decision if the game allows it. That preserves the opportunity to view both outcomes without replaying the entire campaign. The exact requirements for any additional ending or secret-ending variation should be checked against a current ending guide; the supplied research confirms the destroy/release split but does not establish a complete list of hidden requirements.
See PC Gamer’s ending guide for the documented comparison and the distinction between an apparent continuation setup and official canon.

Post-game spoiler warning: this section reveals the reward and reported solution for the Final Puzzle.
Guide coverage identifies post-game systems and rewards including New Game Plus-related content, additional difficulty, challenges, bonus weapons, costumes, infinite-ammunition or other bonus equipment, rocket-launcher and weapon locations, and an Insanity mode. Unlock conditions can depend on the clear state, difficulty, platform version, or current update, so check the in-game challenge and unlock menus rather than assuming every reward appears after one clear.
The Final Puzzle
The Final Puzzle is a post-completion challenge. The cited GameFAQs guide reports that players collect clues during the first playthrough and complete the puzzle during a second playthrough for a 20,000 CP reward.
Reported symbol sequence: Sun Sun Star; Sun Moon Star; Sun Moon Sun; Moon Star Moon
This sequence comes from a secondary guide, not an official Capcom solution. Use it as a guide-reported solution and verify the symbol layout and clue interpretation in your version before treating it as definitive. Platform and buying notes
Resident Evil Requiem is available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. If you are buying the game specifically to use this walkthrough, compare the Resident Evil Requiem physical edition for your platform and region before ordering; stock, packaging, and edition names can change, and this guide does not claim a particular retailer’s current price or availability.
Switch 2 players have one platform-specific extra to know about. Nintendo lists a Grace Ashcroft amiibo that can unlock an exclusive weapon skin for Grace’s S&S M232 when used with the Nintendo Switch 2 version. The amiibo is not required to finish the campaign, solve the Care Center puzzle, or obtain either principal ending. Availability and regional compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.
Capcom reported more than six million worldwide sales on March 16, 2026, and later business-performance reporting stated that cumulative sales had surpassed eight million units in the three months ended June 30, 2026. Those are dated official reporting figures, not a real-time sales counter. Capcom also said ongoing support and additional content were planned, so post-launch features and unlock conditions may change with updates.
Quick completion checklist
- Choose difficulty and first- or third-person perspective before committing to the campaign.
- Learn Grace’s enemy-analysis and infected-blood crafting loop.
- Learn Leon’s parry-to-melee timing and keep a flexible attaché case.
- Search the Care Center and solve its puzzle boxes.
- Collect Moon Quartz, Sun Quartz, and Star Quartz.
- Insert all three Quartz pieces into the Central Hall door.
- Save before major transitions and late-game decisions.
- Track files, antique coins, charms, Mr. Raccoon figures, lore fragments, weapon upgrades, and challenge items separately.
- Reserve rare ammunition, injectors, and healing for mandatory combat gates.
- Make a pre-Elpis save if you want to view both principal endings.
- After clearing the game, review New Game Plus, Insanity, challenges, costumes, bonus weapons, and the Final Puzzle.
- On a second playthrough, use the collected clues and reported Final Puzzle sequence only after confirming the symbol layout.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Resident Evil Requiem better in first person or third person?
Neither perspective is documented as universally superior. First person can intensify the horror presentation, while third person may improve spatial awareness and comfort. Choose based on visibility and atmosphere; neither replaces resource management or route knowledge.
Do I need to fight every enemy as Grace?
No. Grace’s sections are designed around limited supplies, enemy analysis, crafting, and deciding whether to fight or flee. Avoidance or repositioning is often the safer choice when an enemy is not blocking mandatory progression.
What do the Care Center puzzle boxes give you?
The documented Care Center sequence yields Moon Quartz, Sun Quartz, and Star Quartz. Those three items are inserted into the Central Hall door to advance.

The principal reported outcomes involve choosing to destroy or release Elpis. The release outcome is reported to include an additional boss encounter and post-credits scene, but it should be described as continuation-leaning rather than officially confirmed canon.
Can I solve the Final Puzzle on the first playthrough?
The cited secondary guide reports that clues are gathered during the first playthrough and that the puzzle is completed during a second playthrough. It also reports a 20,000 CP reward and the sequence Sun Sun Star; Sun Moon Star; Sun Moon Sun; Moon Star Moon. Confirm the layout in your version before entering it.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Treat Requiem as two games in one. Grace rewards patience, analysis, crafting, and carefully chosen escapes; Leon rewards positioning, readable parries, melee follow-ups, and disciplined ammunition use. The key documented early progression is to solve the Care Center puzzle boxes, collect the Moon, Sun, and Star Quartz, and place them in the Central Hall door. Keep optional collectibles and post-game puzzles in separate checklists, and make a save before the Elpis decision if you want to see both principal endings.
