The Deck result is a single user report, not Valve or EA certification, and ReSkate is not an EA feature.
What ReSkate changes—and what it does not
EA describes skate. as an always-online skateboarding sandbox and says the official game has no offline mode. In its FAQ, EA answers “Will skate. have offline mode?” with “The simple answer: No.” It says the game and city are designed as a “living, breathing massively multiplayer skateboarding sandbox that is always online and always evolving.”
ReSkate is a separate fan project that provides a way to run the Steam game with offline play, local profile and progress storage, multiplayer options, and mods. Its project README describes Steam-hosted lobbies and dedicated servers, too. Those are ReSkate features; they do not make EA’s official service offline or change its online requirements. The project says it is not affiliated with or endorsed by EA or Full Circle.
How the Deck report should be read
A Steam Deck community post published October 3, 2026 reports that ReSkate 1.0.3 ran locally on a Steam Deck OLED using Proton Experimental. That is evidence of one user’s reported setup, not proof that it works reliably on every Deck, SteamOS release, Proton version, or game update. The reviewed sources do not establish formal Valve or EA compatibility certification, performance, battery life, or stability.
#1 Best Overall
- 1TB NVMe SSD
- 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display with premium anti-glare etched glass, 7.4" Diagonal display size up to 90Hz refresh rate
- Wi-Fi 6E
- 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
- Carrying case with removable liner
The report makes ReSkate an interesting unofficial option for Deck owners, but it does not establish that installation is as simple as downloading the game and launching it from Steam. The project README gives general Windows launcher instructions, not a definitive Steam Deck-specific Proton guide.

What you need to know before setup
- A Steam copy of the game: ReSkate’s README says users need their own Steam copy of skate..
- A compatible game build: ReSkate supports one build at a time. The README’s listed build,
25414733, is a compatibility pin rather than a permanent guarantee. The launcher validates the supported build and can retrieve it through the user’s Steam account if the installed game has moved beyond it. - Current project instructions: Release files and supported builds can change, so check the current README and release notes before proceeding. The documented setup is general; it does not prescribe a verified Deck-specific Proton configuration.
- Care with mods: The README warns that custom scripts can run code. Install only mods you trust.
How the documented launcher setup works
The project README describes a general launcher flow. It is not a verified Steam Deck installation recipe.
