In its western release, the game is available on its own for PC and as part of Rhapsody: Marl Kingdom Chronicles, a collection that also includes Rhapsody III: Memories of Marl Kingdom.
What is Rhapsody II: Ballad of the Little Princess?
Rhapsody II is the second game in the Rhapsody series, following Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. NIS America describes it as an RPG for one player, with English text and English or Japanese audio. Its story follows Kururu as she steps into an adventure of her own, in the footsteps of her mother, Cornet. The publisher’s collection overview describes the game as a journey to find her own prince.
Who is Kururu, and what is her story?
Kururu is the twelve-year-old daughter of Marl Kingdom’s king and queen. According to NIS America’s story synopsis, she sets out to find true love, but the quest brings dangerous beasts, dark plots, and other obstacles. The premise gives the game a fairy-tale-flavored coming-of-age feel: Kururu is not simply looking for a prince, but also confronting what true love means.
How does the gameplay work?
NIS America highlights songs and a new turn-based battle system as defining features of Rhapsody II. The publisher’s description presents it as an RPG built around story, music, and turn-based encounters. Steam also describes the PC release as having improved visuals and music, an expanded soundtrack, and faster-paced gameplay; those are storefront descriptions, not independent performance measurements.
