What the Steam updates added and fixed
Graphics and frame-rate controls
Steam’s March 2025 updates added a Graphics Mode choice between Prioritize Graphics and Prioritize FPS, a Recommended preset, and Dynamic Adjustment of FPS. The notes also describe rendering and GPU optimizations related to VRAM use, ambient occlusion, and upscaling. These are PC-focused changes; the Steam notes do not establish that the same controls exist on PS5.

Save-data recovery and safeguards
Ver. 1.09.0.2 added a second backup-save location and documented a manual recovery method: rename BACKUP.BIN to SAVEDATA.BIN. Use that procedure only when the official notes’ backup-save recovery instructions apply to your situation. Ver. 1.09.0.3 added a save-data error notice, and Ver. 1.09.0.4 added recovery for the specified bond-mission progression issue by starting gameplay after installing the patch.
Other fixes
The listed updates also address crashes, loading problems, stuttering, CPU load, visual defects, and several gameplay issues. The exact set of corrections varies by version; consult the official entry for the version installed if you need the complete item-by-item list.

Does the latest Steam patch apply to PS5?
No Steam version number should be treated as a PS5 patch number. KOEI TECMO says the base game content, including story and missions, is the same on Steam and PS5, but its support article identifies Steam-specific PC features and directs PS5 support questions to Sony Interactive Entertainment. It does not establish whether a PS5 update is newer or different from the Steam entries here. See KOEI TECMO Games’ platform support information.
For a PS5 technical-support issue, contact PlayStation Support: KOEI TECMO says it cannot provide support for the PS5 version through its support channel. The official update history cited above is a Steam history, not a complete cross-platform patch archive.

Team NINJA’s March 11, 2025 notice warned that the Ultra preset could cause frame-rate drops, slow performance, and model-rendering problems, and that a 120 FPS limit could cause slow motion. The notice suggested trying High or Standard settings or changing the limit to 60 FPS. It predates the later adjustments listed above, so treat it as a historical notice rather than verified current troubleshooting advice.
