Riven Slivers and Riven Mods are different item types. A Riven Sliver is a fragment resource that can be saved for a vendor exchange, while a Riven Mod is the complete, weapon-specific mod. Digital Extremes documented an exchange of 10 Riven Slivers for one Riven through Palladino, with a one-Riven-per-week limit in the archived offering. That wording describes the historical exchange; Palladino’s live inventory and limits can change, so check the vendor in your current version of Warframe.
In practical terms, Slivers are a means to an exchange and Rivens are the resulting equipment item. You cannot install a Sliver in a weapon, and owning Slivers does not mean you already own a Riven. The distinction also prevents a common mix-up: Palladino’s connection to the Chains of Harrow quest and its Melee Riven reward is separate from the Sliver-for-Riven vendor transaction.

The shortest useful rule is: Sliver equals fragment currency; Riven equals the finished mod. If an item is sitting in your resources and is named “Riven Sliver,” it is not a low-level version of a Riven Mod and it does not become a mod by being placed in your Arsenal. It is stock you may spend when an eligible Palladino offer is available.

What a Riven Sliver is
A fragment of a sundered Riven
Digital Extremes introduced Riven Slivers in the material for The Old Blood. The official item description says: “A fragment of a sundered Riven. It is known that, with enough Slivers, Palladino is capable of reforging a complete Riven.” The important words are fragment and enough. A single Sliver is not a partially rolled mod, a mod with reduced statistics or a spare copy of a weapon’s Riven. It is a separate resource whose purpose is to accumulate toward a later exchange.

The original official notes place Slivers in the Requiem Relic reward context. That does not mean every Requiem Relic in every current release has the same reward table; it records how the item was introduced. What Slivers do not do
- They do not count as a finished Riven Mod in your collection.
- They do not attach to a weapon or provide weapon statistics by themselves.
- They do not tell you which weapon the eventual Riven will concern.
- They do not prove that Palladino currently offers the same exchange, quantity or weekly limit described in an old patch note.
Those boundaries matter when deciding whether to keep farming. A player who wants a mod to equip immediately should look for an actual Riven reward, not merely a Sliver drop. A player collecting Slivers is building toward a vendor transaction and should verify the current offer before assuming that reaching a particular total guarantees a purchase.
What a Riven Mod is
The complete, weapon-specific item
A Riven Mod is the finished mod in this comparison. The community reference WARFRAME Wiki’s Riven Mods page describes Rivens as weapon-specific mods. That means the mod belongs to the Riven system rather than being a generic resource fragment: its usefulness is tied to the weapon named by the completed Riven and to the normal rules for equipping that mod.
Rivens can enter a player’s inventory through more than one reward system. The exact current list is version-sensitive, so it is safer to treat “Riven Mod” as the item category and then check the live activity, quest, vendor or reward table that produced a particular one. Palladino’s historical Sliver exchange is one route documented by Digital Extremes, not a statement that every Riven in the game must come from Slivers.
Why the two names are easy to confuse
Both names contain “Riven,” and both are associated with Palladino, but they sit at opposite ends of the transaction. The Sliver is the input material. The Riven is the completed output. Calling a Sliver a “Riven” can therefore lead to two wrong expectations: expecting to equip it, or assuming that one Sliver has the value of one finished mod. Neither follows from the item description or the archived exchange terms.

How the Palladino exchange works
The archived 10-for-one rule
Digital Extremes’ archived Empyrean: Update 27 notes state: “Introduced in Update 26: The Old Blood, bring 10 of these to Palladino for a Riven! Limited to 1 Riven per week.” In that documented offering, the arithmetic is straightforward: ten Riven Slivers were required for one Riven, and the account could use that particular Riven offer once during the weekly cycle.
Read the sentence as a dated description of an offering, not as a permanent 2026 guarantee. You can review the original wording in Digital Extremes’ Empyrean: Update 27 notes. The note establishes the historical cost and limit; it does not establish what Palladino is displaying in your current build, whether the same Riven type is available, or whether another Sliver use has been added.
Where Palladino fits into the system
Palladino is associated with Iron Wake after the relevant progression. The WARFRAME Wiki’s Palladino reference lists the vendor at Iron Wake and connects the Sliver exchange with the post-Chains of Harrow sequence. Digital Extremes’ support material also discusses Palladino at Iron Wake; its Riven-related answer concerns a quest reward, so it should not be read as a replacement for the separate exchange terms.
A safe way to check and use Slivers
- Confirm your balance. Check the inventory or resources view for the number of Riven Slivers you actually own. Do not infer the balance from a recent mission reward alone.
- Travel to Iron Wake. Palladino’s location and access depend on the applicable quest progression. If the vendor is not available, verify that the required content has been completed rather than assuming the Slivers are missing.
- Open Palladino’s current offerings. Read the item name, required amount and any remaining purchase or weekly-reset information shown by the live vendor.
- Compare the offer with your goal. If you want a completed mod, make sure the displayed reward is a Riven and not another Sliver-related bundle or a different weekly item.
- Confirm only after checking the reset terms. A purchase can consume the resource while the offer may be limited by a weekly cycle. The live screen is the appropriate place to verify the current limit.
The sequence is deliberately based on what the game is showing now. Archived notes are useful for explaining why the system exists, but the vendor interface is the authority for the offer currently available to your account.
Where Riven Slivers come from
Requiem Relics in the introduction-era notes
The Old Blood material documents Riven Slivers as a Requiem Relic reward. That is an historical acquisition context, not a promise that every present-day relic table is unchanged. Relic rewards can be revised by updates, and the note does not by itself provide a current universal drop rate.

Eximus units level 30 and above
Digital Extremes’ Veilbreaker: Update 32 notes later document Riven Sliver drops from Eximus units at level 30 or above. Those notes record a change to a 2% chance for both Steel Path Eximus and regular Eximus in that update. The figure is tied to that dated patch; it should not be presented as a guaranteed or necessarily current rate. The archived details are in Digital Extremes’ Veilbreaker: Update 32 notes.

This distinction is especially important for efficiency planning. A dated percentage can explain why players remember a particular farming method, but it cannot tell you how many runs you will need in your current build. Drop tables, enemy requirements and rewards can be rebalanced. If the game’s current information conflicts with an old percentage, the current information should control your decision.
Palladino’s weekly stock can include other uses
Riven Slivers are not necessarily reserved for one permanent exchange. Digital Extremes’ Hotfix 31.5.2 notes state that Palladino’s weekly offerings had expanded to include an additional Veiled Riven, a Kuva bundle and a Credits bundle, with the offerings resetting weekly. The archived note demonstrates that Slivers can have competing uses and that Palladino’s menu has changed over time. It does not establish Palladino’s live 2026 stock.
Read that dated change in Digital Extremes’ Hotfix 31.5.2 notes. When choosing between offers, first identify what the displayed reward is, then decide whether a completed Riven or another bundle better serves your immediate objective. There is no basis for assuming that an old weekly menu remains identical after later updates.
Do not confuse the Sliver exchange with the Chains of Harrow reward
The Chains of Harrow quest is a separate source of confusion because Palladino appears in the quest context and official support material discusses a Melee Riven reward. That reward condition is not the same thing as bringing ten Slivers to a vendor. The support article’s answer addresses the quest reward; it does not define the Sliver exchange’s cost, reset or current inventory.

For the quest-specific clarification, consult Warframe Support’s Chains of Harrow FAQ. Keep the two paths mentally separate:
- Quest path: a Melee Riven reward associated with the quest’s requirements and completion.
- Sliver path: a vendor transaction in which accumulated Slivers may be exchanged for an offer shown by Palladino.
Completing the quest does not turn a Sliver into a mod automatically, and receiving a quest reward does not prove that the vendor’s weekly exchange has the same terms.

You want something to equip
Look for a completed Riven Mod. A Sliver cannot fill that role because it is a resource fragment. If a reward screen or inventory entry says “Riven Sliver,” treat it as progress toward a future exchange rather than as a mod you can select in the Arsenal.
You are deciding whether to keep farming Slivers
First inspect Palladino’s current menu. Farming toward the historical threshold only makes sense if the live vendor offers a reward you want and you understand the current reset rule. If the menu has changed, your ten-Sliver target may no longer describe the most useful or available purchase.

Check whether you received a resource fragment or a completed mod. A Sliver increases your resource total; it does not create a Riven entry in the mod inventory. Conversely, a completed Riven should be handled through the game’s mod systems, not counted as ten resources.

Common mistakes and how to correct them
Mistake: treating one Sliver as one Riven
Correction: Use the historical exchange as a ratio only when the live offer confirms it: ten Slivers were documented for one Riven in the archived Empyrean notes. The names are not interchangeable.
Mistake: assuming the old weekly limit is permanent
Correction: The one-Riven-per-week statement belongs to the archived offering. Check Palladino’s current purchase screen for the present limit and reset timing.
Mistake: using the 2% Eximus figure as a current promise
Correction: Label it as the value recorded in the Veilbreaker update. Current drop tables or the live game may differ.
Mistake: thinking every Palladino Riven reference describes Slivers
Correction: Separate the Chains of Harrow Melee Riven reward from the Sliver exchange. They are different systems even though both involve Palladino.
Mistake: planning a farm without checking alternative weekly offers
Correction: Palladino’s archived 2022 menu included a Veiled Riven, Kuva and Credits bundles in addition to other offerings. Inspect the current menu before spending or farming so you know what your Slivers can actually buy.

The practical answer
If you remember only one workflow, use this one: collect Slivers as resources, travel to Palladino at Iron Wake when you have access, read the live weekly menu, and spend them only on the offer you actually want. The archived rule was ten Slivers for one Riven with a one-per-week limit, but that rule is historical. A Riven Mod is the finished weapon-specific item; a Riven Sliver is only the fragment used toward an exchange. That distinction remains valid even when the vendor’s exact stock, prices or limits change.
