Roblox does not certify a static list of “music codes” as currently working across games. If you create an experience, the reliable route is to search audio in Roblox Studio’s Creator Store, check that the asset is usable in your experience, and copy its asset ID. A list labeled “May 2024” is historical; the official documentation reviewed does not verify its individual codes or guarantee they still play in a particular experience.
What Roblox music codes are—and why old lists may fail
A Roblox music code is commonly a shorthand for an audio asset ID: the unique identifier associated with a sound on Roblox. Creators can use an ID with Roblox audio objects, but having the number does not establish that the sound is available to every player or authorized for every experience.
That distinction matters for lists such as “50+ Best Roblox Music Codes For May 2024.” The date makes the list historical, and an ID that once worked may not play now. Roblox’s current documentation does not certify those entries or guarantee that any ID will work in a player-facing boombox or a particular third-party experience.
Find audio IDs in Roblox Studio
- Open Roblox Studio and open the Toolbox.
- Select the Creator Store tab, then choose Audio.
- Search or filter for audio that suits your experience.
- Open an asset listing and use Copy Asset ID. Roblox explains how to use the copied ID with audio objects in its Audio assets documentation.
Roblox says the Creator Store includes free-to-use audio for creators’ games, including more than 100,000 professionally produced sound effects and music tracks. That is Roblox’s stated catalog figure; the live documentation does not give it a publication date, and it is not a promise that every track is suitable for every experience.

Use a Creator Store asset
This is the straightforward option when a listed sound fits your game. Roblox describes these assets as free to use for creators’ games. Before building around one, confirm the listing and its permissions work for the experience where you intend to use it.

Upload audio you have rights to use
An uploaded asset is not automatically available to other people or experiences just because you share its ID. Roblox requires uploaders to have legal rights to imported audio and to follow its Community Rules and Terms of Use. Imported audio can be private; the creator controls access and can grant permission to specified friends or experiences. See Roblox’s audio asset guidance for its permissions model.
Why an audio ID may not play
- The asset is private or lacks permission. The owner may need to grant access to the experience using it.
- The ID is outdated or unavailable. A code in an older list is not proof that the asset remains accessible.
- The experience does not support that ID. A code’s existence does not guarantee it works in a particular game’s boombox or other player-facing feature.
- Usage rights or availability have changed. Roblox’s Terms of Use say Roblox may make Licensed Music available for creator experiences or other UGC and reserves the right to revoke usage rights. Do not treat an ID as a guarantee of permanent availability or unrestricted use.
What to do with a May 2024 code list
Treat it as a set of leads, not a current verified catalog. If you want one particular sound, search for it in Studio’s Creator Store and use the asset listing and permissions as your reference. If you are using an upload, confirm the owner has authorized the specific experience and that you have the necessary rights. The official Roblox sources reviewed provide a creator workflow, not confirmation that individual codes in the historical list still work.
