Windows 11 supports Roblox on 64-bit systems. You can install it from the Microsoft Store or use the desktop version launched through Roblox’s website. Roblox’s current support guidance names the Store app you need as Roblox – Windows; it does not show that either installation route is universally faster or better.
Which Roblox version should you install on Windows 11?
Choose the Microsoft Store if you want the Store-distributed app and can find the listing named Roblox – Windows. Choose the website desktop version if you are following Roblox’s browser-based installation instructions or if support recommends switching versions to troubleshoot an error. Roblox documents both routes but does not publish a general performance comparison between them.
Microsoft Store: look for “Roblox – Windows”
Roblox distinguishes its newer Store app, Roblox – Windows, from the older listing named simply Roblox. Its [Store app announcement] says players need the new app to keep playing on Windows. After installing it, sign in with your usual Roblox username and password. Roblox describes the app as more stable; that is the company’s product description, not an independent test or a guarantee for every PC.
Website desktop version: launch through a supported browser
Roblox’s desktop installation and troubleshooting instructions use a supported browser to launch or reinstall the desktop client. Roblox lists Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge as supported PC browsers. See its [general desktop troubleshooting guidance] and [reinstallation instructions].

Windows 11 Roblox requirements
Roblox’s [system requirements page] supports 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. It also lists DirectX 10 or higher feature-level support and recommends at least 300 MB of system storage for installation. These are Roblox’s published requirements and recommendation, not an independent hardware test.
How to update Roblox on Windows 11
Use the update route for the version you installed. For the Store app, find Roblox – Windows in Microsoft Store and use the Store’s available update option. For the website desktop client, launch Roblox from the website in a supported browser and follow any update prompt. Roblox’s support pages document these two distribution routes; the exact Store controls or prompts can vary by Windows and Store version.

Quick fixes for Roblox installation and launch problems
Start with the general steps, then follow the instructions for the specific message or symptom. An install loop, a library-loading error, a client error 403, and a website display problem do not necessarily have the same cause.
- Restart the computer, then retry. Roblox lists a reboot among its general desktop troubleshooting steps.
- Close other programs while installing or updating. Roblox recommends this to help minimize later problems.
- Identify the exact symptom. Note whether Roblox repeatedly asks to install, displays “Failed to Load Library,” shows error 403, or whether the website itself is malfunctioning. Avoid deleting app data as a first step when the symptom-specific instructions point elsewhere.
- Reinstall if the installation appears corrupted or keeps failing. Roblox says reinstalling can replace deleted or broken files and that uninstalling first is usually unnecessary. If you do uninstall, Roblox instructs you to restart between uninstalling and reinstalling.
Fix “Failed to Load Library”
For this error, Roblox specifically recommends trying the other official app route: remove the Microsoft Store version and install the website desktop version, or switch the other way. Its [library-loading troubleshooting page] also lists these steps:

Fix Roblox error 403 on Windows 11
For a 403 error when launching the client from the website, Roblox’s [error 403 troubleshooting page] recommends reinstalling Roblox and clearing Roblox app data. If the problem appears network-related, try another internet connection. These are troubleshooting suggestions, not a guaranteed fix.

If the problem is with the website rather than the game client, Roblox’s desktop troubleshooting guidance recommends clearing temporary internet files and cookies, updating the browser, and disabling extensions or VPNs.
