Roblox’s stated standards position, as reported by The Associated Press, addressed the raid reenactments—not political protest in general. The available reporting documents examples and viral clips, but does not establish how many children took part or measure the activities’ effects.
What kids are doing on Roblox
Roblox coverage describes both virtual demonstrations against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and gameplay that depicts immigration raids. Those activities can appear side by side in viral clips, but they are not the same thing: one portrays political expression; the other reenacts a real-world enforcement action.

In a June 20, 2025 report, EL PAÍS documented Latino children and young people organizing in-game protests against ICE and deportations. Reported signs included “WE ARE NOT ILLEGAL,” “STOP ICE,” “KEEP FAMILIES TOGETHER,” “ICE Out of California,” and “BROWN AND PROUD.” Some clips circulated on TikTok, with captions and comments including “Even in Roblox you’re not safe from the cops.” These are examples from reported posts, not a representative survey of Roblox players.

On Jan. 30, 2026, The Associated Press reported renewed protest and immigration-raid roleplay content amid events in Minnesota. Some players wore ICE gear and carried out raids; others held protest signs, including “We hate ICE.” AP said much of the raid gameplay appeared to take place on private servers in Brookhaven, a Roblox roleplaying experience. The report also noted similar clips the previous summer during the “No Kings” protests.

Does Roblox allow protest games?
The AP report does not establish a blanket Roblox ban on anti-ICE demonstrations or political signs. It reports that a Roblox spokesperson said reenactments of immigration raids violate the platform’s Community Standards and that the company takes action against users found violating its policies.
As quoted by AP, the rule bars content that recreates specific real-world sensitive events, mocks victims, supports or glorifies perpetrators or outcomes, or commercially capitalizes on those events. Roblox’s position, as described in that report, concerns the reenactments; it should not be generalized into a claim that every political demonstration or sign is prohibited.

How protest and raid roleplay differ
| Activity | What it portrays | What the coverage establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Anti-ICE protest | Avatars demonstrating, carrying signs, or expressing opposition to ICE and deportations. | EL PAÍS and AP documented examples. The reporting does not establish a platform-wide prohibition on political expression. |
| Immigration-raid roleplay | Players acting out raids or taking the role of immigration agents. | AP reported that Roblox said these reenactments violate its standards and that the company acts against users found violating them. |
The distinction matters when discussing moderation and when deciding what to report: a protest sign and a reenactment of a sensitive real-world event are different kinds of content.

What the activity may mean for young people
Giovanni Ramos, an assistant professor of clinical science at the University of California, Berkeley, told AP that protests in a game could give young people a way to process news, express social support, and connect with peers. He described young people as “exploring what they’re seeing in the news or what they hear adults talking about at home and trying to make sense of those experiences.” On peer connection, he said, “That can really be a lifeline.”
Ramos also cautioned that raid reenactments could minimize or invalidate the experiences of immigrant youth directly affected by immigration enforcement. These are his interpretations, not reported clinical findings about the Roblox activity as a whole. The cited coverage does not measure mental-health outcomes, show whether the demonstrations changed policy or ICE operations, or establish how many children participated. Video views are not participant counts.

How to report a Roblox violation
Roblox’s official reporting guide recommends reporting the specific chat, player, experience, private message, or other content at issue rather than only reporting a profile. In an experience, the guide directs users to open the menu, choose the flag or Report tab, and report a person or the experience. Interface labels may change, so consult the current help article for the latest steps.
Roblox says in-experience reports can give moderators context and identifiers—including object and avatar IDs—that screenshots alone may not capture. That explanation comes from the company’s own account of its reporting systems.

What the numbers do—and don’t—show
Roblox reported 111.8 million average daily active users, 6.1 billion chat messages, and 1.1 million hours of voice chat per day for the quarter ended June 30, 2025. Those company-reported platform figures provide scale, not a count of people involved in the protests or raid roleplay. Roblox also reported 24,522 reports to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 2024, representing 0.12% of 20.3 million reports across the industry; that figure is platform-wide and is not an ICE-related report count. The figures appeared in Roblox’s Aug. 13, 2025 post.
