Badges awarded by experience developers, verified badges, and administrator badges were listed as remaining. Roblox also said eligible holders received matching avatar front accessories, with the Admin badge excluded from that distribution.
Which Roblox badges were removed from profiles?
The change applies to legacy system badges awarded by Roblox and displayed on user profiles. Roblox said many of these badges were no longer achievable. The company announced the change on December 9, 2025, with removal planned for early 2026. It concerns where those badges appear; the announcement does not say Roblox deleted badge history.
Roblox did not provide creation dates for every affected badge, so the headline’s “Nearly 20 Years” should not be read as proof that each badge had existed for that long.
Which badges stayed?

What did Roblox give badge holders instead?
In an update dated January 23, 2026, Roblox said it had awarded off-sale avatar front accessories to users who held the corresponding system badge, except the Admin badge. Roblox named Bricksmith, Ambassador, and Veteran as examples. The accessories are virtual avatar items, not replacement profile badges.

Roblox reported, “More than 1 billion items have now been awarded.” That is the company’s reported total in its January 23 update, not an independently audited count. If you held an eligible badge, check your Roblox inventory for the matching accessory.
Why did Roblox make the change?
Roblox said the goal was to simplify Profiles and make room for more personalized features. In its December 9 announcement, the Profiles Team wrote: “To help us simplify the Profile experience and make space for more impactful, personalized features, we’ll be removing these legacy system badges from the Profiles surface in early 2026.”

Why are players reacting to it?
A badge on a profile was a public marker of a player’s history; an avatar accessory is a different way to preserve or display that connection. Some people in one Reddit discussion expressed nostalgia or disappointment about losing the profile display, while others asked what the badges had become. Those comments illustrate possible reactions, not a representative measure of Roblox players’ views.
