As of August 18, 2026, Roblox’s official status page reported “All Systems Operational.” That is a snapshot, not a guarantee that every game, region, device, or network is working. Check Roblox’s status page first, then use the affected service and the checks below to tell a platform incident from a local connection problem.
How to check Roblox server status
- Open the official Roblox status page.
- Read the overall status banner, then inspect the component tied to your problem. The page separates services including User, Website, Mobile App, Xbox App, Games, Game Join, Data Store, Creator, Studio, and Asset Delivery.
- Open the incident history and check the latest update time. Refresh the page if an incident is changing; a cached page may be out of date.
Roblox itself directs players to this page when they want to know whether the service is down. A recent example of why component checks matter: the page listed a limited asset-upload issue on August 6, 2026, and an avatar-accessory publishing issue on July 25, 2026, rather than a complete platform shutdown. What Roblox’s status labels mean
These are practical interpretations of the status-page categories, not a technical guarantee about every player or location.
- Operational: Roblox reports the component as functioning normally.
- Degraded performance: It is available, but may be slow, unreliable, or intermittently failing.
- Partial service disruption: Some functionality, users, regions, or workflows may be affected.
- Major outage: A substantial part of the service is unavailable.
- Maintenance: Roblox is carrying out planned or unplanned maintenance.
An incident may be marked as investigating, identified, monitoring, or resolved. Check its latest update rather than relying only on the headline: an incident can begin before Roblox posts an update, and a component can be impaired while unrelated services remain available.

How to confirm a possible outage beyond the status page
Use unofficial signals to corroborate a problem, not to declare one confirmed.
- Roblox’s official social channels: Roblox Support says its official Twitter/X account and website notifications may carry maintenance and service updates. These can add context, but the status page remains the clearest component-by-component reference. Roblox outage guidance.
- User-report trackers: A sudden rise in reports can flag a developing issue. It measures reports, not Roblox’s internal service health; a spike may reflect an ISP, a regional route, login trouble, or one popular experience failing.
- Community reports: Posts from players can reveal shared symptoms, but may be duplicated, delayed, speculative, or about the same single experience.
If Roblox has not posted an incident but reports are rising, compare the timing and geography with your own symptoms and recheck the official page. If the status page itself is unavailable, use official social posts and user reports only as temporary clues until you can check it again.

What to do when Roblox reports an outage
- Identify the affected component and read the latest incident update.
- Wait for Roblox’s next update, then retry after the incident changes or is marked resolved. Roblox does not promise a universal repair time.
- Do not repeatedly reinstall the client while the relevant service is confirmed impaired; reinstalling cannot repair a platform outage.
- If the incident affects purchases or inventory delivery, avoid repeating the transaction while the first one is unresolved. - When the relevant service is resolved, test again. If your problem remains, follow the local troubleshooting steps below.
What to do if Roblox says everything is operational
Work from the fastest diagnostic checks toward changes that take more time. Roblox’s remedies vary by platform, so use the current app-store listing and Roblox’s platform-specific guidance rather than treating one fix as universal.
1. Try another experience
If another experience works, the fault may be limited to the original game. Roblox notes that a defective or overloaded place can fail even when the platform is available. Connection troubleshooting.
2. Compare devices and networks
- Try another experience on the same device.
- Try another device on the same network, if available.
- Test a different network, such as a mobile hotspot, or use Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi.
If Roblox works on another network, focus on the original Wi-Fi, router, ISP, DNS, firewall, or filtering. If it fails on just one device across networks, focus on that device or its client.

3. Restart and check basic connectivity
- Fully close Roblox and restart the device.
- Restart the router if other devices or online services also have connection trouble.
- Check whether other websites and online games work.
- Confirm the device’s date and time are correct.
4. Update Roblox
If you see Error Code 280, Roblox says the installed version may be out of date. Update it using the current source for your platform—such as its app store—and try again. Error 280 is not, by itself, evidence of an outage. Roblox’s Error Code 280 guidance.
5. Check browser settings and extensions
For browser or website problems, try an updated supported browser, then test another browser or a private/incognito window. Temporarily disable ad blockers and other extensions as a diagnostic, and review browser security settings. Restore extensions one at a time after testing; they may be the cause. 6. Check network restrictions
Firewall or router rules can block connections. Roblox’s general connection article lists UDP ports 49152–65535; consult that guidance and your router or firewall documentation before making changes. 7. Reinstall only if simpler checks fail
Reinstalling may help with corrupted client files, but it will not fix an outage, ISP failure, blocked network, or broken individual experience. Roblox includes reinstallation among its additional connection troubleshooting measures. Roblox connection guidance.
8. Contact Roblox Support or your ISP
Contact Roblox Support if the issue persists across networks or appears tied to your account, client, or a Roblox service after the status page reports resolution. Include your username, the exact error, device model, operating-system version, steps that reproduce the problem, and recent device or network changes. Error Code 277
Roblox describes Error 277 as a failure for the client and application servers to establish a network connection on PC, Mac, or mobile devices. The code does not prove Roblox is down. Its suggested steps include trying another internet connection, reinstalling, clearing local app data on supported desktop setups, and contacting your ISP if the issue continues. Error Code 279 / ID 17
Roblox describes this as a failure to establish a network connection between the client application and servers. Guidance differs across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Fire OS, and ChromeOS, so use the instructions for your device rather than applying a desktop fix to every platform.
