A linked parent can often approve an eligible experience under Parental Controls → Content restrictions → Allowed games. That approval will not override age checks, Restricted experiences, regional availability, or console family controls.
Menu names can vary slightly by Roblox app version and region. This guide reflects Roblox’s current controls as of September 2026.

If no request appears, verify that the parent is signed in to the correct account and that the child account is actually linked. Roblox explains account linking and parent privileges in its Parental Controls FAQ.

When parental approval cannot unlock the experience
It is a Restricted experience
Roblox says Restricted experiences require the user to be at least 18 and to complete the required age check. A parent cannot use Allowed games to turn a minor’s account into an eligible 18+ account. Restricted content may include strong violence, realistic blood, romantic themes, alcohol, or strong language. See Roblox’s Restricted Content Policy.

Roblox Kids is generally intended for ages 5–8, while Roblox Select is generally intended for ages 9–15; age bands can vary by region. These account types use age-appropriate catalog limits. Parents may approve some additional eligible experiences, but approval does not make Restricted content available to an under-18 account. Roblox describes these account types in its Roblox Kids and Roblox Select guide.
The account’s age or age-check status is not eligible
Roblox currently describes age groups including Under 9, 9–12, 13–15, 16–17, 18–20, and 21+. Its guidance says 16- and 17-year-olds can play games except those rated 18+, while access to the full catalog requires eligible 18+ age-checked access. A parent approval cannot change a 16- or 17-year-old account into an 18+ account.

If the birthday or age-check result is wrong, use Roblox’s official support and verification process rather than creating a second account or entering a false birthday. Rules and availability can depend on region. See Understanding Age Checks on Roblox.
The experience is unavailable in your region
Some experiences and features may not be available in every location. Changing Content maturity or approving the game cannot fix a regional restriction.

Xbox can apply a separate Microsoft family restriction even when Roblox’s settings are correct. The family organizer may need to permit both:

Check Roblox’s linked-parent settings first, then review the Microsoft family organizer’s permissions. Sign out of Roblox on Xbox, restart the console, and sign back in. Roblox’s Xbox instructions are available in its Xbox family-account support article.
PlayStation, Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Android
Roblox’s account settings remain the first check, but device-level controls can impose additional limits. Look for the platform family organizer’s settings for age ratings, online multiplayer, user-generated content, app approval, and screen time. There is no single universal menu path because labels vary by operating system, account type, and region.
Use this quick diagnosis
If only one experience is blocked
- Check Blocked games.
- Compare the experience with the child’s Content maturity level.
- Check Pending requests and Allowed games.
- Determine whether it is Restricted.
- Consider regional availability.
If many experiences are blocked
- Check whether the account is Roblox Kids or Roblox Select.
- Review Content maturity.
- Check the account’s birthday and age-check status.
- Confirm the parent account is linked to the correct child account.
- Review console or device family controls.
- Check screen-time limits. Roblox documents these under Managing Screen Time.
If the setting looks correct
- Fully close Roblox instead of leaving it suspended.
- Confirm the child is signed in to the intended account.
- Recheck Allowed games and Blocked games for the correct child profile.
- Open the current experience page rather than an old favorite, notification, or external link.
- Update Roblox from the relevant app store or console dashboard.
- Try another age-appropriate experience to establish whether the problem affects one game or the entire account.
- Contact Roblox Support if the restriction remains.
Include the exact error text, experience name and URL, device and platform, child account’s age group, whether the parent is linked, and screenshots of the restriction and relevant settings. Never include a password.

What not to do
Do not use a VPN, fake birthday, alternate account, DNS change, or reinstall as a way to bypass an age or parental restriction. Reinstalling may fix an app problem, but it cannot legitimately remove an account-level safety rule. The safe solution is to use the linked parent controls or Roblox’s official age-check and support processes.
