Roblox said the creator had met a deadline for requested changes addressing user abuse in an experience, but that investigators separately confirmed an outstanding policy violation that could not be rectified.
What Roblox said it did
Roblox’s June 30, 2025 update said the company had finished its internal investigation. It announced that TheOfficialTeddy would no longer be permitted on Roblox, that groups owned by the user would also be barred, and that the creator’s experiences would be made unplayable while Roblox sought an owner able to operate them in compliance with Community Standards.
This describes the action Roblox announced on that date. The cited material does not verify whether the account or experiences remain restricted as of October 8, 2026.
Why Roblox gave two different explanations
Roblox distinguished between requested changes to an experience and a separate violation found during its investigation. The distinction matters: the company did not say the creator missed the deadline for the requested abuse-related changes.

Requested changes addressing user abuse
Roblox said it asked the creator to make changes to comply with its standards on user abuse within experiences. According to the company, the creator made those changes within the requested timeline.
A separate violation Roblox said could not be fixed
Roblox said the investigation also confirmed “a separate outstanding policy violation that cannot be rectified.” The company identified that separate violation as the reason for barring the account and owned groups and making the experiences unplayable pending a compliant owner. The update does not provide further detail about the violation, so its nature should not be inferred from the statement.

How Roblox described its enforcement approach
In the same update, Roblox said it requires verifiable evidence within its systems before taking enforcement action. It described an approach in which it generally holds the party responsible for a violation accountable, but may work with developers to reduce abuse when it is unusually prevalent in an experience. Roblox said it may remove an experience if its developer is unwilling to make the requested changes. These are Roblox’s descriptions of its own process, not an independent assessment of how consistently it is applied.
What a 2026 court complaint alleges
A complaint filed April 24, 2026, in Doe v. Roblox et al., Case 3:26-cv-03513, alleges that TheOfficialTeddy was invited to The Hatch and the 2025 Developers Conference, that an invitation was later rescinded, and that the account remained active for a period. Those are plaintiffs’ allegations in a court filing, not judicial findings or, on the evidence cited here, admissions by Roblox. The complaint alone does not establish that the allegations are true.

What the record does—and does not—establish
- Roblox’s public account is that it completed an investigation and announced restrictions on TheOfficialTeddy, the user’s owned groups, and the associated experiences on June 30, 2025.
- Roblox said the creator met the timeline for requested changes addressing user abuse, while a separate, unrectifiable policy violation led to the announced enforcement.
- The cited complaint adds allegations about event invitations and account activity; it does not establish those claims as facts.
- The cited sources do not confirm the account or experiences’ status on October 8, 2026.
A July 31, 2025 Roblox Developer Forum post about Social Hangout maturity levels and moderation mentions TheOfficialTeddy as context for one participant’s concerns. It reflects that poster’s perspective; it does not establish that this case caused a specific policy change.
