Has Epic acknowledged a Rocket League Sideswipe Bonus XP glitch?
Not in the official material available here. Epic’s current Bonus XP support article describes the intended mechanic and eligibility rules, but does not identify a current glitch, its cause, or a fix.
Players have described receiving Rocket League XP without the expected Sideswipe Bonus XP in a community discussion. The original poster later edited their post to say syncing seemed to be working again for them. That is an individual report, not confirmation of a general fix. A separate community search snippet dated August 28, 2026 says the issue had been reported and was being looked into, but does not identify the speaker as Epic or Psyonix; it cannot establish developer acknowledgment.
How Bonus Wins and extra XP are supposed to work
Epic says to link Rocket League and Rocket League Sideswipe to the Epic Games account used for the rewards. Leveling up in one game grants a Bonus Win in the other. To receive the extra XP, win an online match in the game where the Bonus Win is available. Simply having both games installed does not award the bonus automatically.

Psyonix described the same-account requirement and online-win mechanic in its June 17, 2024 Season 16 announcement. That announcement corroborates the mechanic but does not report on the current missing-XP issue.
Check these conditions if the bonus XP is missing
- Confirm the account link. Make sure Rocket League and Sideswipe are linked to the Epic Games account where you expect to receive rewards.
- Check for a new level-up. A level-up in the other game generates the Bonus Win; the bonus is not an automatic reward for every match.
- Win an online match in the receiving game. The extra XP is awarded after that win.
- Check the seasonal limit. Epic lists a maximum of 70 Bonus Wins in a Rocket League Season and 50 in a Sideswipe Season. Each limit resets at the end of that game’s season.
- Contact official support if it still fails. If the published conditions appear to be met, use Epic’s Rocket League support page. The support guidance does not provide glitch-specific troubleshooting or promise a resolution timeframe.
What the reports do—and do not—show
Community posts show that some players have experienced missing or delayed cross-game Bonus XP. They do not establish how widespread the problem is, identify a cause, or prove that Epic or Psyonix has formally acknowledged or fixed it. Avoid treating an isolated report of syncing resuming as a reliable workaround.
