Steam lists Rocksmith 2014 Edition Remastered Learn & Play for $2.99, 70% off, with the offer ending October 8, 2026. That is the Learn & Play edition—not a return of the original game’s licensed base-game soundtrack. Because the listed end date is today, check the live Steam listing for your region before buying.
Which Rocksmith 2014 edition is on sale?
Steam’s current listing is for Rocksmith 2014 Edition REMASTERED LEARN & PLAY. The store page calls it “back by popular demand” and says the edition is identical to the original in other aspects. The listing is for a one-time Steam purchase, not a subscription.
The return does not mean the original base-game songs are back. Ubisoft announced that Rocksmith 2014 would be removed from digital storefronts on October 23, 2023, as music licenses expired; songs and packs were to be delisted over time. Ubisoft said that purchasers could continue playing or redownloading previously bought game content (Ubisoft’s delisting announcement). Ubisoft later explained that Learn & Play was built as a one-time Steam purchase after those original music licenses expired (Ubisoft’s developer update).
Does Learn & Play include the original songs?
Do not buy it expecting the original base-game soundtrack to have been restored. Steam says that downloadable songs from the original Remastered edition are compatible with Learn & Play, but that compatibility statement is about downloadable content—not a promise that the original base-game songs are included.

Steam also warns owners of the original Steam edition not to download Learn & Play: doing so risks losing the original base game’s licensed music. If you already own that edition, leave it installed and do not download the new entry unless you have checked Steam’s warning and understand the risk.
What does the $2.99 Steam offer mean?
Steam’s listing showed a price of $2.99 at 70% off, with the offer ending October 8, 2026. That is a time-limited listing, not a permanent price, and its stated end date is the current date. Price and availability may vary by region or change as the offer expires, so confirm the checkout price on Steam before purchasing.

What do you need to play?
The Steam page identifies the Real Tone Cable as the accessory used to connect a real guitar or bass to a PC. The game purchase and the physical cable are separate: the $2.99 listing is for the game, and it does not establish that a cable is included. Steam’s installation guide explains that Rocksmith 2014 is installed and launched through the Steam application (Steam installation guide).
Before buying, check that you have a compatible PC setup and the connection hardware you plan to use. The listing names the Real Tone Cable for playing with a real instrument; it does not establish a current cable price or availability.
