That is a striking qualitative comment—not confirmation that developers have never seen the whole game, or a measurement of its map or content.
What did Rockstar say about GTA 6’s scale?
In an interview with IGN, Rob Nelson—identified by GamesRadar as Rockstar’s head of development and co-studio head—was quoted as saying: “The game is so big, I don’t know that there’s anybody on the team that knows all of it.” GamesRadar reported the remark on August 31, 2026.
The wording matters. Nelson expressed uncertainty about whether anyone on the team knows all of the game. The headline phrasing that developers “haven’t seen everything” is a punchier paraphrase, not his exact claim.
What the comment does—and does not—tell us
It signals that Nelson considers GTA 6 exceptionally large or complex. It does not establish a map-size figure, how many locations or activities the game contains, or what any individual developer has personally seen.

- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
- Established: Nelson made a qualitative remark about the game’s scale.
- Not established by the remark: a measured map size, a content count, or proof that no developer has seen the entire game.
Those are separate claims that would need their own evidence. Until a reliable source provides measurements or specific content details, the quote should be read as an impression of scale rather than a specification.
