Who can Verso romance?

How relationship progression works
Romance scenes are tied to the broader relationship system, which also unlocks character scenes, companion quests, outfits, and Gradient Attacks. Those progression rewards are distinct from choosing a romantic route.
Gamer Guides says Verso can begin forming relationships after the Forgotten Battlefield, the first story dungeon in Act 2. Check in with companions at camp after story dungeons to see whether new conversations are available; some dialogue choices can stall progress. The guide recommends saving before conversations if you want the option to revisit a choice. These are guide-reported recommendations, not independently verified behavior. Can pursuing Sciel lock you out of Lune’s romance?
Guide accounts say that pursuing or committing to Sciel can prevent Lune’s romance in the same playthrough, even though you can continue progressing Lune’s relationship. The guides differ on precisely which Sciel dialogue choice sets the lock, so do not assume that one early flirt option is always the commitment point. If Lune is your goal, avoid accepting Sciel’s romantic choices and check a current route walkthrough when a decision appears.

Do you have to choose romance for the rewards?
No. Relationship progression has benefits beyond romance: Gamer Guides lists scenes, companion quests, outfits, and Gradient Attacks among its rewards, while Gameranx characterizes romance itself as having no gameplay effect. You can therefore keep building relationships without treating every conversation as a commitment to a romantic route.
