Romina, Saint of the Bud, is a mandatory boss in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. She waits at the Church of the Bud in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh; defeating her opens the way to burn the Sealing Tree and reach Enir-Ilim. Her story is tied to the church’s destruction and the scarlet rot described in her weapon and Remembrance item texts.
Where to find Romina
Romina is at the Church of the Bud in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. PCGamesN’s June 25, 2024 guide describes reaching the Rauh Ancient Ruins from the Shadow Keep area and continuing to the church. The boss is required for expansion progression: after defeating her, you can proceed toward burning the Sealing Tree and entering Enir-Ilim. The game-reference entry for Romina identifies her location and progression role.
What Romina’s item descriptions say about her
Romina’s story is conveyed through item descriptions, not a named character’s spoken account. The Poleblade of the Bud description links the weapon to a bud she held as the church burned:
“Once, in the crumbling, burning church, Romina held the bud in speechless silence. That bud would become her blade.”
