Romina is vulnerable to Fire according to EIP Gaming’s boss guide, while Frostbite and Bleed are viable alternatives. Stay close enough to roll into many of her attacks, punish a committed combo briefly, and retreat when she summons butterflies. She waits in the Church of the Bud in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh; defeating her advances the main story.
Romina’s weaknesses and the best damage options
EIP Gaming reports that Romina has no resistance to Fire and has 20% resistance to other damage types. Those are guide-reported figures, not independently verified, patch-specific game data. The practical takeaway is that Fire is a sensible first choice if your build can use it; Frostbite and Bleed are also useful status options rather than requirements.
- Melee: Consider a fire-infused weapon or a weapon skill that deals Fire damage. Heavy attacks can help build toward a stagger, according to EIP Gaming and PCGamesN.
- Status builds: EIP Gaming describes her Frost buildup threshold as fairly low, and both EIP Gaming and PCGamesN recommend Frostbite; PCGamesN also reports success with Bleed.
- Sorcery or incantations: Prefer quick casts at close range or use a distraction. Romina closes distance quickly, so long, slow casts from far away can leave you exposed.
These are build choices, not a single required setup: lean on Fire if it fits your equipment, or use the status effects and tactics your character can apply reliably.
How to fight Romina
Stay close, but watch which part is attacking
Romina’s poleblade, centipede body and scorpion tail create attacks from different angles, so avoid relying on one dodge direction for everything. PCGamesN recommends rolling into her body for many attacks. EIP Gaming notes that staying very close can let parts of some attacks pass overhead. Close positioning can help, but it does not make every move safe.

Punish the end of her combos
Watch for her drawing back before a lunge, then dodge the attack rather than trading hits. After a combo or committed lunge, take one or two attacks if there is room, then reset. Trying to extend a punish can leave you caught by another limb or weapon swing.
Respond to her distinctive attacks
- Airborne spinning weapon: Roll left or backward, as PCGamesN advises.
- Curling or rolling attack: She rolls around and then leaps toward you. Dodge right or backward near the end of the sequence.
- Butterfly explosion: Below half health, she can rise and summon butterflies before an explosion. Roll back, then keep running away from the blast area instead of turning back to attack.
- Plunging attack: Dodge the plunge and use its recovery as a chance to heal if you need to, as EIP Gaming recommends.
Preparation, healing and summons
Romina inflicts Scarlet Rot, so bring an in-game counter if you have one: Preserving Boluses or the Flame Cleanse Me incantation. Immunity-boosting equipment, talismans and cured meats are additional preparation options cited by EIP Gaming.
A Spirit Ash can draw her attention and create openings. Push Square and PowerPyx recommend Mimic Tear; EIP Gaming and PCGamesN also mention Dryleaf Dane near the arena. A summon is not a guarantee of safety: her broad attack coverage can still catch you while she is targeting an ally. Keep watching her movements and avoid attacking through a dangerous sequence.
Where to find Romina and what defeating her unlocks
Romina is in the Church of the Bud in the Ancient Ruins of Rauh. PowerPyx describes reaching the area from Shadow Keep’s west rampart and following the route through the ruins. Guides describe her as a non-optional story boss in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree.
