It was a prediction attributed to an X account—not an announcement from Nintendo—and it did not confirm any games. It is historical coverage, not news of a current Direct.
What the leaker tease was about
FandomWire’s Liam Magee reported on June 13, 2024, that Midori’s X account had suggested the upcoming Nintendo Direct could be unusually strong. The report placed the remark after Microsoft’s Xbox showcase and in response to a question comparing the two presentations. The original social post was not available in the material supporting the report, so its exact wording cannot be verified and should not be treated as a direct quotation. FandomWire’s report describes the tease; the available account of the remark supplies its context.

Which games were actually confirmed?
None by this tease. The report mentioned Metroid Prime 4, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and Hollow Knight: Silksong as part of the surrounding speculation, but the evidence does not show that Midori named or confirmed those games in the remark. They should not be read as a lineup for that Direct on the strength of this report.
The article also discussed the Nintendo Switch lifecycle as context. That does not mean the leaker endorsed the hardware or made a specific claim about a Switch game or product.

Was the claim official or verified?
No. The claim was a subjective prediction attributed to Midori’s account, not a statement from Nintendo. An IMDb listing also summarized June 2024 reporting that challenged the identity Midori had presented publicly. That is a reason to handle the attribution cautiously; it does not establish whether this particular prediction was accurate. The IMDb listing provides that identity-related context.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Did the Direct turn out to be one of the best?
The available evidence does not settle that question. “One of the best” is a judgment, and assessing it would require comparing the actual presentation—such as its breadth of announcements or release timing—with a clearly stated standard. The source material here does not provide a verified retrospective assessment or the original post needed to evaluate the exact prediction. The fairest conclusion is that the report captured an optimistic rumor, not a confirmed outcome.
