Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is an action RPG and life simulation built around three connected activities: farming, restoring and building villages, and fighting as an Earth Dancer. It launched on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PC via Steam in June 2025; PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions followed on February 13, 2026. This guide explains what the game is, how its releases and editions differ, and what official platform details are available.
What is Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma?
Guardians of Azuma is a standalone action RPG and life simulation in the Rune Factory series. You play as an Earth Dancer, restoring villages and bringing life back to the land while also farming and fighting. Marvelous describes combat with weapons including bows and talismans.
The main activities are designed to support one another: village restoration and construction sit alongside farming and action combat. Marvelous’ official gameplay overview introduces the Earth Dancer premise and these core systems.
Which platforms can you play it on?
The release history and platform-specific details matter when choosing a copy. Marvelous announced the June 5, 2025 launch on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Windows PC via Steam. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions released February 13, 2026.

Where to find guides
This overview covers the game’s premise, platform releases, and product editions. Specific walkthroughs—such as quest solutions, item locations, combat builds, crop data, or romance routes—need dedicated, game-specific references. Use the platform’s store page and Marvelous’ official game material for release and edition details; for a particular in-game question, look for a guide that names the relevant quest, character, item, or version rather than assuming a system works identically across the series.
