What is RuneScape: Dragonwilds?
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is a survival crafting spin-off set on Ashenfall, a forgotten continent in the RuneScape world where dragons have awoken. Jagex’s original announcement described a game built around gathering resources, building, developing skills, and crafting to survive while uncovering ancient secrets and confronting the Dragon Queen. In the released game, players can explore Ashenfall alone or in teams of up to four. The progression loop combines resource gathering, shelter and equipment crafting, potions, skill development, quests, magic, and dragon encounters. When did Dragonwilds launch, and what changed since the announcement?
Jagex announced the game on March 31, 2025, and released it in Steam Early Access before its full launch. On September 15, 2026, Jagex announced the 1.0 release across PC and consoles. That launch included the Scorned Wilderness update, which Jagex says concluded the opening Kuldra Saga.
