What is Rustler (Grand Theft Horse)?
Rustler is a single-player, top-down open-world action game developed by Jutsu Games. Steam lists its release date as February 18, 2021. It transplants a deliberately inaccurate medieval setting into a sandbox inspired by classic Grand Theft Auto: you play as “The Guy,” take on missions and quests, or ignore the plot and cause trouble in town. Steam also says its client supports Windows 10 and later beginning January 1, 2024. That client requirement is relevant if you plan to play through Steam, even though the game listing still names Windows 7 as its minimum OS. Steam lists achievements, Cloud saves, and Family Sharing. It names 13 interface languages; English has full audio and subtitles, while the other listed languages have interface and subtitle support without a full-audio checkmark. Is Rustler worth checking out?
It is most directly aimed at players who want a single-player, top-down sandbox with missions, horse theft, combat, and intentionally anachronistic medieval comedy. If you are considering it now, compare the local store’s current price and availability on the platform you already use; the past Epic giveaway does not establish a current free claim or a current price.
